Although I live in Noida, I feel that Sohna Road is actually still coveted as far as a residential destination goes. Gurgaon has obviously seen some saturation as compared to Noida where land and prices are comparatively cheaper. However, Sohna Road continues to garner good traction owing to decent infrastructure and connectivity and launches of major projects in areas like Sector 68 (M3M Sierra, M3M Natura, etc.). Sohna Road has major proximity to multiple entertainment and recreational zones along with leading workplaces and industrial clusters. This is one reason for the growth of the area as a residential hub and the distance is manageable from the Indira Gandhi International Airport (28 km only).
The nearest railway station and the National Highway 248A are just 17 and 12 km away from Sohna Road respectively. I also feel that pricing, while a little on the higher side, is still reasonable compared to many parts of Gurgaon. There is the metro link and proposed expressway that will cater to this part of town and the Manesar and Sohna industrial corridors will generate jobs hugely in the future, thereby creating demand for property here. You can thus get nice gains from your investment now. Schools, restaurants, petrol pumps, hospitals are all within manageable distance.
Thanks a ton for your input. I was considering a move to Sohna Road sometime earlier although it did not happen then. However, I am now looking for a colleague who is shifting out of a high-priced rental accommodation to a new home (which he is looking for in Gurgaon). Sohna Road will be nearer to his office.
