SSUP Latest Update:

UIDAI Executes Massive Aadhaar Update Campaign (Nov 8, 2022)

In a move to improve the services, UIDAI, in the month of October 2022, has executed a drive to assist aadhaar card holders to update their documents. The authorities so far managed to provide 19,000 cardholders with their document update within the span of a month. This was in addition to 8,000 new enrollments implemented by the authorities. The fact that an aadhaar is an important document to hold, UIDAI is constantly stressing the importance of updating one’s aadhaar card. For this, provisions like the Aadhaar Card Self Service Update portal launch came in like a wedge to fulfill its consumer’s convenience of keeping the document up-to-date. The Aadhaar SSUP service is not the only method, one can even visit the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra to keep their documents fresh.

Aadhaar Update Mandatory Every 10 Years

As part of keeping the aadhaar database fresh, UIDAI has made it mandatory for cardholders to keep their aadhaar card information updated every 10 years. This will not only help the users in getting faster authentications but also help the authorities to create more efficient monitoring of resources. As of now, it was only necessary for children who turn 5 and 15 years of age. Users have the provision to make use of the Aadhaar SSUP portal for making essential demographic updates. Moreover, with the introduction of Bhuvan aadhaar services, cardholders can jot down nearby Aadhaar Sewa Kendra and enrolment centers more efficiently.

Also, the UIDAI authorities mentioned that for cardholders aged above 70, there won’t be any updates required unless there is an error rectification needed or the consumer changed their basic information such as address or mobile number. Consequently, every other age group will benefit from making biometric updates every 10 years as an aadhaar card is deemed an essential document for availing of various services. With the recently introduced Aadhaar Card Self-Service Update portal, users can simply do various minute changes online from the comfort of their homes.

Aadhaar SSUP Latest Updates: What is Bhuvan’s Aadhaar Portal

As per the latest Aadhaar SSUP updates, the government has decided to launch the Bhuvan Aadhaar Portal which will enable users to track Aadhaar service centers more efficiently. This latest launch is in collaboration with the National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) which is an entity under the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), and will provide the necessary tools and technology for the feature to function smoothly. The information came into light with a social media tweet by UIDAI released on 15th of July.

This initiative was undertaken to resolve customers’ queries pertaining to Aadhaar service center locations. Although with Aadhaar self service update portal in place, many users still resort to Aadhaar updates in person with the help of operators. The portal will incorporate geo-spatial view of nearby Aadhaar enrolment centers thereby assisting residents to ascertain the apt location of the same. The feature will mainly present the map of India and will circle down the service centers available throught the country. Users can simply click on the ones closer to them and navigate through for reference points.
