Moon Resort

Gone are the days when one could only imagine living on the moon amidst the stars. Almost all of us want to experience an exciting celestial experience thanks to movies like Star Wars, Arrival, and The Martian. Little did we know that Dubai’s upcoming moon-shaped luxury resort would fulfil our dreams in this lifetime.

Whenever people want to explore and experience a whole new world, Dubai never fails to seize the moment. Dubai’s Museum of the Future has already won over the hearts of billions of people and helped boost the tourism sector. With the upcoming Moon-shaped Luxury Resort, the city is set to shake up the world’s curiosity and the tourism industry.

Galactic Experience: The Brains at Work

A Canadian architectural firm, Moon World Resorts Inc., is designing the moon-shaped luxury resort, which Sandra G. Matthews and Michael R. Henderson co-founded. Both Matthews and Henderson are passionate about architecture and have been working on this project since the company was founded. Their fascination with space tourism and love for design will soon be open to the public to experience.

Visitors and tourists will be attracted to the resort’s structural centre by the surreal experience of walking along the circular route. New architectural marvels like this offer a luxury getaway for space and astronomy enthusiasts. The resort will take 48 months to complete and is estimated to open in the year 2027 with a projected number of tourists of around 3 million per year.

How Much Will It Cost To Build?

An estimated USD $5 billion will be spent on building the Moon-shaped luxury resort (approximately Rs. 40,000 crores). With a height of 735 feet and a land area of 10 acres, the resort will offer 300 residential sky villas for sale. Additionally, a hyper-speed shuttle will be introduced to transport visitors around the resort.

As a result, the resort’s founders and concerned authorities are busy obtaining the necessary permits and organising roadshows to attract investors. The project is to follow a 5-year building programme planned in a way that will have one year of pre-development phase and then a four-year building programme.

Internal Structure at Glimpse

The two distinct parts that make up the structure are a spherical base volume made of three stacked discs and the lunar orb. There is a spa, a convention centre, and a hotel lobby at the hotel’s base. The orb includes all 4,000 suites. They envision ‘electric windows that allow guests to look out on whatever they like, rather than traditional windows.

An Economy Booster

It is undoubtedly true that the moon-shaped luxury resort will boost the economy of the Emirates with an estimated income of about $2 billion per annum. It will primarily benefit the hospitality industry, tourism, real estate, entertainment, technology, and space tourism. Modern facilities like a spa centre, casinos, restaurants, and a vibrant nightlife will be on display. Among the top floors of this building, 23% will be devoted to casinos, 9% to nightclubs, and 4% to eateries. One-third of the luxurious terrace will be devoted to the beach club, one-third to the lagoon, and 4% to the magnificent amphitheatre. The resort will offer a dedicated ‘moon shuttle.’ The resort definitely wants to offer a unique and galactic experience in space tourism.

Moreover, the co-founders believe that this project will be one of the most successful and most significant modernised tourism projects in the entire MENA region, doubling Dubai’s tourism numbers. According to projections, 3 million tourists will visit the moon-shaped resort each year. It is not to be missed that this one-of-a-kind project will bring the UAE to the very front of space exploration.

All Can Walk On The Moon!

While Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos are taking people to space for about $55 million, visitors can get a similar fascinating experience in the moon-shaped lunar resort by just paying around $500.

According to reports, the UAE is also looking at potential related to celestial bodies, developing satellite communications technology, and applying the most recent space technologies on Earth. According to Arabian Business, the nation recently set aside $820 million to finance ambitious space goals, including early plans to develop satellites.

The lofty objective of the UAE to be recognised as one of the most inventive nations in the world has now been symbolised by the fascinating world of architecture.

Conclusion

The moon-shaped luxury resort is undoubtedly going to be a marvel in the world of tourism and architecture. Now, one can live the reel life in real life and fulfil their wish to walk on the moon. No need to sulk while watching movies like Apollo 13, First Man, etc. as there will now be lunar colonies to walk on, stay in a ‘space villa’, zoom around in a hyper-speed shuttle, and much more. We tend to yearn for something that looks just like the movies. Like Kenobi in Star Wars stated, “May the force be with you”. This time it really does seem to be.
