On 13 January 2012, the Delhi Municipal Corporation was divided into three smaller municipal corporations – North Delhi Municipal Corporation, South Delhi Municipal Corporation, and East Delhi Municipal Corporation. Each of the municipal corporations has one hundred and four wards except for East Delhi Municipal Corporation. East Delhi Municipal Corporation has only 64 municipal wards.

East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) is also a part of one of the five local bodies in the National Capital Territory of Delhi. The other four local bodies are – North Delhi Municipal Corporation, South Delhi Municipal Corporation, New Delhi Municipal Council and Delhi Cantonment Board.

Step5: Before submitting, verify all the details and then click on the submit option. 

Step 6: Confirm it once more, and then download it for future use.

Step 4: Fill in the details like mobile number, deceased first name, gender, time and place of death, required for registration and click on ‘Submit’ to proceed after verifying all the information once.

Step 5: You can further, take the printout of the application for further use.

Documents Required for Death Registration in EDMC

Here are the essential documents required by the family while applying for the death certificate registration:

  • The declaration of the death of an individual by a family, member or a close relative or friend.
  • Complete address proof of the address the deceased individual lived in. 

How to Get a Marriage Certificate in East Delhi Municipal Corporation?

One can apply for a marriage certificate in East Delhi very easily. People can apply both offline and online easily. First they apply and then the process moves further to concerned government authorities. 

Here are the eligibility criteria for a bride and the groom,

  • Either the groom or bride must be a citizen of India.
  • The bride must be 18 or above in age and the groom must be 21 or above in age.
  • Marriage has been solemnized within the territorial jurisdiction of the NCT of Delhi.
  • Registration must be done within 60 days.
  • Both bride and groom shall bring two witnesses each.

Offline Procedure for Marriage Registration in EDMC

Here are the steps you must follow:

Step 1: First both partners have to sign the application form. This form will further move to senior government authorities.

Step 2: After the submission process, the applicant will accept the receipt.

Step 3: And, within a few days a date will be issued for both partners so that they can visit the registrar office on the same day.

Step 4: On the same date, the couple will get married under the witness of a Gazetted officer and two witnesses from each side. 

Step 5: Finally, the applicants and their four witnesses will sign the registry.

Note: If the marriage is already celebrated then the marriage certificate will be issued on the same day. And, if the application is filed before the marriage then government officers will take 30 days time before giving the marriage certificate. These 30 days they will verify the details and ask both families if anyone has any issue with the marriage or not. If there is no such issue then the certificate will be issued on the same day as marriage.

Step 7: Once you submit the document, you can take the printout of the application form. It is mandatory to present the form in front of the registrar on the date issued to them.

The list of all necessary papers that are needed while a candidate appeals for a marriage certificate:

  • Valid Id proof of the bride 
  • A valid Id proof of the groom
  • Id of the groom and bride’s parents
  • Legal guardian Id proof of groom and the bride.
  • Legal Id of witnesses from the bride’s and the groom’s side.
  • Invitation card from the bride side and the groom side.
  • A joint photograph of both the groom and the bride.
  • A joint affidavit of the bride and the groom.
  • A residential proof.
  • Document if both or one (bride or groom) is physically disabled in any way.

The EDMC has made the payable property tax simple and transparent for users. These taxes help in creating a limit to a certain extent of property tax prices. You can check the steps to pay the tax using the online portal and online method of payment.

Step 5: If you are a new user then you must sign up otherwise, you can log in using your credentials.

How to Get a Trade License Renewal Online in East Delhi Municipal Corporation?

A trade license is a legal paper required by every business person for running their trading or business without any legal hassle or law. This act was launched under the Delhi Municipal Corporation, 1957. The trade license act was created so that every business owner follows all the safety measures, takes precautions, and works as per government rules and regulations.

Note: The validity of a trade license starts from the issuing date to next year’s 31st March.

Step 5: You have to enter your registered mobile number. A new authorization code will come on your registered number that you have to enter and verify. 

If you are a new user you have to sign up with all essential details.

Step 6: Now, you can fill in all the essential information like your registered mobile number, the area from where you operate your business from the drop-down menu, enter the license number and submit the application after paying the renewal fees. 

Note: The renewal fees of trade licenses depend upon what type of business you are doing and in which category or division it falls in. The price can vary between ₹ 300 to ₹ 1000 annually.

What is the Eligibility for EDMC Election Department?

Here is the eligibility criteria for East Delhi Municipal Corporation:

  • The candidate must be 21 years old or above.
  • Must be registered as a voter in the nearby Electoral Roll of a ward.
  • Have to file an affidavit at the time of nomination stating all the data about their background (criminal cases if any,  educational qualifications, assets).
  • Must deposit a security amount of Rs.3000 (general category) / Rs. 1500 (SC/ST) at the time of filing the nomination. If the nomination is rejected then the amount will be refunded back to them.
