In a major boost for real estate markets in Noida and Ghaziabad, as part of the Metro Stage 3 blueprint, the GDA (Ghaziabad Development Authority) has prioritized the metro expansion to Sahibabad from the Noida Electronic City over the Vaishali-Mohan Nagar Metro line. The choice to prioritize this stretch of 5.11 kilometres was majorly attributed to the fact that the DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation) proposing the same in return for ensuring metro connectivity to Noida, Faridabad and Delhi from Ghaziabad.

This line will have 5 stations, namely Vaibhav Khand, Indirapuram, Shakti Khand, Vasundhara and Sahibabad. The project is expected to cost approximately Rs. 1, 886 crore as per reports. This will be jointly shared by the Centre, State Government in Uttar Pradesh, UPSIDC, GDA, GMC and UP Housing Board. As per the initial blueprint, the Centre and UP State Governments will provide Rs. 334.6 crore each while 571.90 crore will be contributed by the GDA. The UP Housing Board will be providing Rs. 365.04 crore and Rs. 206.86 crore will be given by the GMC. The UPSIDC will be giving Rs. 73.01 crore as per reports.

The zones have been chosen based on requirements. Three stations fall in the Indirapuram zone regulated by the GDA and this will be the biggest priority.
