Daily News Digest – Work on Navi Mumbai Airport expected to start in a month

The work on the Navi Mumbai Airport, which is expected to come up at cost of INR 16,500 crore  is expected to start in a month. According to reports, the final clearance from the Environment Ministry  is expected to come quite soon so authorities have started planning the ground work for the project.

The work on the airport has been pending since two decades as it has been involved in one controversy after another. The airport, once it comes up, will be a major relief to the existing airport which has been witnessing heavy traffic. It will also boost real estate in the region on accounts of improved connectivity.

Nagpur Municipal Corporation to start Smarty City  Solutions next month

With the help of the Maharashtra Government, Nagpur Municipal Corporation is all set to begin smart city solutions to boost safety and cleanliness in the city. Approximately INR 520 crore will be spent on various projects and a deadline of twelve months has been set for the same.

Slum Redevelopment Fund set up in Gujarat with a corpus of INR 700 Cr

A Slum Redevelopment Premium Fund (SRPF) has been set up by the Gujarat Government for affordable housing. INR 700 crore is the planned investment in the project and around 35000 houses would be set up in the first phase.
