Unlike a lot of Delhi’s residential pockets that have to send commuters a few kilometres away for a train, Pitampura got lucky. The station used to be called Pitampura itself, sitting right at Madhuban Chowk, and even after the recent renaming, it’s still practically inside the locality. Add the newer Magenta Line extension that opened here in March 2026, and Pitampura now has more metro options than most of North West Delhi.<\/span><\/p>\n

That’s the good news. The slightly more complicated part is that Pitampura is large enough that “the nearest metro station” changes depending on which block you live in \u2014 someone in ND Block will walk to a different station than someone near Kohat Enclave or Rani Bagh. Here’s the full picture.<\/span><\/p>\n

Quick Answer: Madhuban Chowk<\/b> (formerly Pitampura), on the Red Line, is the station most people mean when they ask about metro access here. It sits right at the Outer Ring Road junction and now also connects to the Magenta Line, though the two platforms currently require exiting the station to switch the walkway linking them is expected to be ready by the end of 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kohat Enclave<\/b>, also Red Line, is the better pick for anyone in South Pitampura, Kapil Vihar, or Vaishali Enclave, roughly a kilometre from Madhuban Chowk. If you’re further north, near Prashant Vihar or Sector 14 Rohini, the newly opened Uttari Pitampura Prashant Vihar station on the Magenta Line is closer than either Red Line option.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is the station that gave the area its old name, and for most residents it’s still the default. It sits on Outer Ring Road near Block ED and Sector 8 Rohini, close to the Pitampura TV Tower and the DAV School stretch. Because it opened back in 2004, it’s had two decades to become the anchor point for buses, autos, and general foot traffic in this part of the city.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Magenta Line platform is new. It opened in March 2026 as part of the Deepali Chowk Majlis Park extension, and while the interchange between the two lines technically exists, passengers currently have to exit one station and walk over to enter the other. DMRC has said the connecting walkway should be done by late 2026. Until then, treat the two lines here as separate stations that happen to share a name.<\/span><\/p>\n
