With the NCRTC moving the proposed Ghaziabad-Jewar Namo Bharat corridor to the detailed project report (DPR) stage, the 72.44-km airport link is closer to implementation. Set to reduce the travel time between the existing Ghaziabad Namo Bharat station and the Noida International Airport to 50 minutes, the corridor is targeted to become operational by 2030.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The latest plan proposes 22 stations apart from the existing Ghaziabad station, combining Namo Bharat and metro services to serve residential, commercial and industrial areas across Ghaziabad, Greater Noida and the YEIDA region.<\/span><\/p>\n

What it means for connectivity<\/span><\/h2>\n

The proposed corridor will create a direct north-south transit link from <\/span>Ghaziabad<\/span><\/a> to Jewar through several of Greater Noida’s most developed and emerging urban nodes. Starting at the existing Ghaziabad Namo Bharat station, the line will pass through Ghaziabad South before entering Greater Noida West. The alignment will serve Greater Noida West sectors 4 and 2, followed by Knowledge Park V, Surajpur, Pari Chowk and <\/span>Ecotech VI<\/span><\/a>. The corridor will then move towards Dankaur and the YEIDA development area, covering North Sector 18 and Central Sector 21 before reaching Noida International Airport.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The service pattern is designed around two levels of connectivity. Metro services are proposed from Ghaziabad to Ecotech-VI, covering 18 stations, while Namo Bharat services will stop at 11 stations. Seven stations will be common to both systems. This is particularly relevant for Greater Noida West and the central Greater Noida belt, where additional metro stops are intended to serve shorter local trips rather than only airport-bound passengers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

At the interchange level, the corridor will link into the existing NCR network at Ghaziabad, allowing passengers to connect with the Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor and Delhi Metro’s Red Line. <\/span>Pari Chowk<\/span><\/a> is planned as an important connection point with the <\/span>Aqua Line<\/span><\/a>, while YEIDA Central Sector 21 is expected to provide access towards the upcoming Noida Film City.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The airport-end connectivity is also being designed around different travel markets. The Ghaziabad-Jewar journey is expected to take about 50 minutes. The planned network would put Sarai Kale Khan within around 70 minutes, Delhi Aerocity within about 80 minutes and Begumpul in Meerut within about 85 minutes of <\/span>Noida International Airport<\/span><\/a>. The airport section itself will include an underground stretch near Terminal 1 and the Ground Transportation Centre, allowing the rail link to reach the airport complex rather than terminating outside it.<\/span><\/p>\n
