The registration charges and stamp duty vary from one state to another. Additionally,\u00a0 the plot registration charges in Punjab are also different from house registration charges and flat registration charges in Punjab. As per the latest reports, the Government of Punjab charges a 7 per cent stamp duty.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Stamp Duty Collection in Punjab is Done in the Following Manner:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a05 percent of the consideration amount\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a01 percent for Social Infrastructure Cess (SIC)<\/span><\/li>\r\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a01 percent for Punjab Infrastructure Development Board (PIDB)<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the event of mutual exchange of familial property, the executors are charged with a 900 INR stamp duty. If the property is transferred to someone in your blood relation, you\u2019re not liable to pay any stamp duty. Facilitation charges are also required to be paid along with stamp duty. For a consideration amount of 10,00,000 INR or less, a fee of 1,000 INR is charged.\u00a0 The agreed amount between the seller and the buyer is referred to as the consideration amount. Consideration charges ranging between 10 lakhs to 30 lakhs are charged with a fee of INR 3,000.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The calculation of stamp duty is done considering the circle rate. For the property to be considered as legal, it must be registered at the circle rate or above it. Circle rate is defined as the standard rate of property below which a property isn\u2019t registered.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<h2>Stamp Duty and Registration Charges in Punjab for Women<\/h2>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To promote women house-ownership, the Punjab government has granted a concession on the charges of stamp duty for women in the state. The payable stamp duty on a property registered in the name of a female solely or jointly with another female partner is 1 percent lesser than the normally applicable stamp duty for all others. In the case of two females jointly owning a property, this percentage remains unchanged.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If a joint property is being registered in a man and woman\u2019s name, the stamp duty charged would be 6 percent of the transaction value.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a case of the property being jointly registered by the name of a male and a female, then the female holds the right to collect the rebate in the proportion of her property\u2019s share.
