Area details<\/strong><\/p>\n The area identified for redevelopment is spread over thirty-nine acres and has around sixteen lanes. Majority of the residents live in a very small area roughly eighty sq feet in size. Once new buildings are built, they will move over to a much larger house measuring about 500 sq feet. The total built up area post development would be around 45%.<\/p>\n \u201c Square View – Mumbai has a lot of low storied structures which can be rebuilt to accommodate its future growth. A well-coordinated redevelopment plan will go a long way in inspiring other property owners to come together and improve property in their areas. \u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Regulatory clearances<\/strong><\/p>\n Kamathipura is quite a distance away from the coastal zone and there are no restrictions regarding civil aviation in the area. So getting regulatory approvals won\u2019t be a big challenge. Since the Bhendi Bazaar cluster redevelopment plan, the government has also started encouraging more such plans.<\/p>\n Need of the hour<\/strong><\/p>\n Mumbai is badly in need of cluster redevelopment. Although the population is increasing, the buildings are not at all ready to cope up with this growth. Also many areas are poorly planned and lack proper infrastructure.
