Jabalpur is a city in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. It is a tier 2 city and also the 3rd largest urban agglomeration in the state. It also stands in the 37th position for the largest urban agglomeration in our country, as per the 2011 Census. After Raipur, followed by Jabalpur, then followed by major growing cities like Bhopal, Bilaspur, Indore, and Durg-Bhilai, it is the second-largest metropolis in Central India.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

What stands as a Smart city Jabalpur today was once a centre for the Gond and Kalachuri Dynasties back in history. It was then under the Maratha and Mugal rule which brought about some developments in the city. It was constituted as a cantonment town and conquered by British India and named Jubbulpore around the beginning of the nineteenth century. There have been many demands made since Indian independence to make Jabalpur the capital of Mahakoshal a breakaway state. The Gun Carriage Factory is also located in the city.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Smart city Jabalpur has chosen Rudrabhishek Enterprises Ltd. popularly known as REPL, a public limited infrastructure consulting firm based out of Delhi, to provide Project Development and Management Consultancy. The LOI for this was released by the Executive Director of JSCL for a 24-month term that may be extended.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Under the Smart Cities Mission<\/a> or SCM, Smart city Jabalpur is one of the top 20 cities to be chosen. Given that Madhya Pradesh is the state’s administrative, industrial, and commercial hub, Jabalpur is an extremely significant city. This project will move forward more quickly and effectively with the support of mixed-use land development, the creation of walkable smart roads, the creation of open spaces, the promotion of a range of transportation options like public transportation development and last-mile accessibility, giving authenticity to the city, and the use of innovative solutions.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
