Sozhanganallur is a rapidly developing suburban area along the important East Coast Road (ECR). This is steadily emerging as a hotspot for the hospitality industry in . Neighboring areas like Palavakkam and Neelankarai have also witnessed rapid progress in terms of real estate. Another neighboring zone Uthandi is a slow starter when it comes to real estate development. Sozhanganallur is well connected to the Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR) and offers lovely views to residents. The suburb is not yet connected to the rest of the city through the railway network as of yet.

The nearest Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) station is at which lies approximately 13 kilometres away from the area. Sozhanganallur is well linked to the rest of the city through a solid and reliable network of MTC (Metropolitan Transport Corporation) buses. There are several buses running till Sozhanganallur from Broadway which is 27.5 kilometres away and from Chennai Central which lies 27 kilometres away from the suburb.
