Dehradun Bypass Project Progresses for Enhanced Connectivity

The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) is constructing a 12 km long Greenfield four-lane access-controlled bypass connecting to the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor near Asharori. This project, with 44% physical progress achieved, is expected to be completed by April 2027.

The recently inaugurated Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, costing ₹13,000 crore, has reduced travel time between Delhi and Dehradun to 2.5 hours. This improved connectivity is driving surge in real estate demand, with property prices already seeing a 15-30% increase and projected to rise another 15-25% in the next 18-24 months.

During Q2'2026, average property prices for Excentia Tatva moved from ₹ 4,050/sqft to ₹ 4,100/sqft, reflecting a 1.23% rise.

The 12-kilometer bypass project around Dehradun, a ₹716 crore initiative by the National Highways Authority of India, has reached 44% completion. This four-lane greenfield highway, connecting Jhajhra to the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor, is slated for completion by April 2027.

Major Infrastructure Upgrades Planned for Dehradun

As part of Uttarakhand's ₹74,100 crore mega road plan, Dehradun will see urban infrastructure upgrades including elevated corridors, ring roads, and tunnel-based bypass systems, . Additionally, the four-lane Paonta Sahib-Dehradun link road, a ₹1,650 crore project, is nearing completion and is expected to become operational in May 2026.

Industrial Corridor Planned Along Delhi-Dehradun Expressway

UP is planning an industrial corridor along the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway, aiming to boost industrial growth and create job opportunities across 26 districts. Land acquisition has begun to identify approximately 1,000 hectares for attracting investments. The corridor will benefit from easy access to expressways and highways, potentially attracting thousands of crores in investment.
