The Patiala Ki Rao reserved forest is just one km from Nayagaon and is a beautiful place to visit. It is a major tourist spot and one can take a walk around the Dharmas Pool.

The locality has been facing the problem of poor sanitation. The locals are not very responsible for the environment and therefore the roads in a few parts of the locality are quite dirty and don't get cleaned very often. They often see littering here and there. The pollution level in the locality is high and there are several open drains in the area, causing a distasteful sight and foul stench. Another problem that arises is that the drains sometimes overflow.  causing a lot of inconveniences for the people living nearby. There are also complaints of frequent power cuts and electricity shortages in some parts.

Nayagaon is a well-connected locality through the road network. Karoran Road and Dillon Road passing through the locality enhance its connectivity further by connecting it to the rest of Chandigarh City. The Chandigarh International Airport is a bit far at a distance of approximately 26 km away. The locality has no metro connectivity but the rest of the public transportation can be easily accessed.
