Panvel-Karjat Corridor Nears Completion, MRVC Accelerates Mumbai Rail Upgrades

Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation (MRVC) has made significant progress on suburban rail projects. The Panvel-Karjat New Suburban Corridor is nearing completion, The Virar-Dahanu Road Quadrupling Project is progressing fast. Signalling and telecommunication works have been commissioned at Kelve Road station.

A total of 98 out of 120 launched units have been booked as of February 2026, including 63% of SHOP(15 out of 24 units), 92% of 1 BHK(77 out of 84 units), 50% of 2 BHK(6 out of 12 units).

The Rs 3,578 crore Virar–Dahanu Road quadrupling rail corridor has achieved significant progress, with 86% of earthwork complete. The project, forming a crucial part of Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP) Phase III, is expected to transform suburban rail connectivity.

Structural Works reach 80% completion, External Works has reached 94%, Internal finishing stands at 100%, MEP Services including lift and staircases, are now 97% done.

A total of 131 out of 156 launched units have been booked as of March 2025, including 79% of SHOP(38 out of 48 units), 91% of 1 BHK(87 out of 96 units), 50% of 2 BHK(6 out of 12 units).
