Panvel-Karjat Corridor Nears Completion, MRVC Accelerates Mumbai Rail Upgrades

Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation (MRVC) has made significant progress on suburban rail projects. The Panvel-Karjat New Suburban Corridor is nearing completion, The Virar-Dahanu Road Quadrupling Project is progressing fast. Signalling and telecommunication works have been commissioned at Kelve Road station.

External Works has reached 100%, MEP Services including lift and staircases, are now 100% done.

A total of 16 out of 42 launched units have been booked as of February 2026, including 24% of 1 BHK(8 out of 33 units), 89% of 2 BHK(8 out of 9 units).

The Rs 3,578 crore Virar–Dahanu Road quadrupling rail corridor has achieved significant progress, with 86% of earthwork complete. The project, forming a crucial part of Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP) Phase III, is expected to transform suburban rail connectivity.

Structural Works reach 73% completion, External Works has reached 67%, Internal finishing stands at 88%, MEP Services including lift and staircases, are now 50% done.

A total of 18 out of 42 launched units have been booked as of May 2025, including 30% of 1 BHK(10 out of 33 units), 89% of 2 BHK(8 out of 9 units).
