The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has proposed developing a 14-hectare plot in Ghansoli into a sports hub. This is part of a new state provision allowing integrated sports complexes outside Mumbai. The proposal aims to create international-standard facilities.

The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has intensified its crackdown on unauthorized construction in Ghansoli. Following the non-compliance of notices issued under the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966, the NMMC carried out a demolition drive against a property owner who continued construction without prior approval.

The Detailed Project Report (DPR) for Metro Line 8, connecting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) and Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), has been submitted to the state government for approval. The 34.89-km corridor will have 20 stations and is estimated to cost ₹23,000 crore.

As a resident, I can say that Ghansoli is a very nice locality with all kinds of facilities available. There are several options for public transport, and autos and cabs are very easily available. So far, I have not experienced major power cuts or issues with the water supply. The streets are well-lit and safe at night. We have good access to hospitals, markets, shopping malls, schools, medical stores, and so on.

There are many shopping centers in the locality such as Star Market, Reliance Fresh, DMart, Reliance Smart, and DMart Ready fulfilling the needs of the local people. Excellent transportation distinguished Ghansoli; the Eastern Express Highway provided easy access. And the Ghansoli Railway Station made travel easy. With elite schools and institutions such as NMMC School and Rajeev Gandhi College, as well as great hospitals like Universe Hospital, always accessible, we were spoilt for options. With neighborhood markets and eateries like Theobroma, entertainment was satisfactory. The bad sanitation and water problems were my biggest disappointment. The waste disposal was sometimes inadequate, and waterlogging during the monsoons was a regular occurrence. The ease and communal character of the area made it a great element of Navi Mumbai, notwithstanding those infrastructural problems.

Ghansoli was selected for its perfect closeness to main IT and industrial centers like the Reliable Tech Park. Rental rates here are in the premium range, but the access to facilities makes it inexpensive. From neighbourhood marketplaces and stores to gyms like One Life Fitness Hub, everything is here. I consider Ghansoli to be a really connected and very effective location. The excellent bus service and smooth travel offered by the Ghansoli train station appeals me. The area seems stable and safety is adequate. Air pollution and poor trash disposal needing quick improvement in some areas are my biggest worry. For a working professional, living here is really easy.

For the safety and convenience of the neighbourhood which typically has low crime concerns rent is relatively high. Good institutions like Tilak Global School and premium healthcare at Divine Multispecialty Hospital abound here. Two things, though, surely need work, the inadequate drainage system leads to waterlogging during the monsoons, and some internal communities struggle with inadequate waste management ongoing.
