Positives: I lived in Powai for a year, and there were lots of things I liked very much. It became home. The lake and greenery around it provided me with calmness when city life became chaotic. Connectivity was a major advantage: JVLR roads, LBS Marg, and bus routes ensured that it was quite easy to reach work, IIT Bombay or the malls. Additionally, I enjoyed the schools and well hospital facilities such as Dr L.H. Hiranandani Hospital. Negatives: On the negative side, rent and property charges were high, particularly in Hiranandani. Traffic became extremely bad in peak hours, so even small distances consumed a lot of time. Noise and air pollution near busy roads irked me frequently. Also, at times, the cleanliness of the lake deteriorated, such as when hyacinth flowers, litter, and sometimes foul odours marred the view.

Positives: I am thoroughly liking the quiet, disciplined ambiance of the blocks and colonies; it's very verdant. What I like most is the superb connectivity. It has several Metro stops (such as Janakpuri West) so close and the shopping District Centre is extremely convenient. It's certainly a high-end area with excellent community facilities. Negatives: My four primary irritations are common to Delhi, though. Road congestion and bad driving are awful in peak hours, particularly close to the major intersections. Parking is an absolute nightmare, and there's usually inconsistency of the piped water supply in the older, inner lanes. Additionally, the air quality in the winter months is seriously of concern and impacts my health.

Positives: This is a well established area in South West Delhi, providing a mix of residential convenience and city amenities. The locality is well connected through the metro lines, ensuring convenient commuting. The presence of the Janakpuri District Centre also enhances its appeal, offering the facility for shopping, eating, and entertainment. Further, the locality is rich in parks and green areas, which add to the living experience. Negatives: Residences have been associated with water quality problems, including reports of E. coli contamination in drinking water samples. Traffic congestion at rush hours is also an issue, particularly around the metro stations and major roads. All these can influence the general quality of life of future residents.

Positives: I appreciate the well-planned structure, the crowded District Centre retail and street markets, convenient metro connectivity at Janakpuri West, accessible hospitals and schools in the vicinity, and plenty of DDA parks for early morning strolls. Local buses and good road connectivity make travelling through Delhi easy, and my family loves the local atmosphere. As a contented owner, I suggest Janakpuri to families seeking city convenience along with local warmth. It actually feels like home to us, and neighbours are always friendly as well. Negatives: I see some downsides, such as congested traffic at peak times and scarce parking around the District Centre that can irk visitors and dwellers. Otherwise safety feels nice, maintenance is good and festivals introduce vibrant culture.

Positives: The good things about the locality include how it is extremely well-connected to several parts of Delhi through the Pankha Road and Outer Ring Road. We also get two metro stations here, including the Janakpuri East and West, covering the Blue Line and Magenta Line interchange. The upcoming Magenta Line extension to RK Ashram Marg and the Delhi-Alwar RRTS line will make this a better place in terms of connectivity. Lots of green spaces and basic amenities in the place as well. Negatives: The only thing I don’t like is how it gets waterlogged during the monsoon. Also, another issue is the power cuts in the peak summer season.

Positives: I enjoyed the area Janakpuri had excellent metro connectivity, and Najafgarh Road, Pankha Road made it quite convenient to travel to other areas in Delhi, Gurugram, Noida. It had plenty of schools, hospitals, shopping malls, parks near District Centre, Unity One Mall, numerous markets, and Buddha Jayanti Park was pleasant for evening strolls. Negatives: The thing that irritated me was that most of the flats had smaller rooms. Traffic to the airport or farther distances got extremely bad during rush hour. The water supply was not always clean, and sewer/water pipes being extremely old. Also, during monsoon most of the streets, particularly C-block, faced waterlogging due to weak drainage.

Positives: I selected Janakpuri precisely due to the excellent transit, and that alone deserves a 4-star rating. Having more than one Metro stop close by, such as Janakpuri West (Blue and Magenta lines), is a godsend for going to Noida or CP. It's a well-settled area and secure at night, with clean, well-lit roads and all you need within walking distance. It has wonderful markets, Malls, and parks such as Buddha Jayanti. Negatives: But being a resident, I see the aging infrastructure. Older DDA flats and builder floors have smaller sizes of rooms compared to newer complexes. The inner roads, especially Dharam Marg, badly need repair since they are full of potholes. The government bus transport is also fairly unreliable, and going to the airport means heavy traffic jams.

Positives: The area is like a crowded, well-networked neighborhood. I have a house here and I find the good metro connectivity (Janakpuri West interchange on Blue and Magenta lines), frequent buses and plenty of local markets. The District Centre market, malls and weekly bazaars provide easy shopping, and schools, clinics and cinemas are just near, so life is convenient. Negatives: Principal roads become congested during peak hours, and parking is usually a challenge. Some areas feel noisy and congested around markets and cinema complexes. During intense monsoon periods, a couple of lanes experience waterlogging and drainage problems. Still, the transport connectivity, retail choices and consistent property demand make it a functional place to have a home.
