The Delhi government has issued a tender for a geotechnical survey for the proposed extension of the Magenta Line from RK Ashram Marg to Indraprastha. The extension aims to improve connectivity to the Central Vista area and reduce congestion at Rajiv Chowk. The project is anticipated to provide a direct metro spine beneath the Central Vista redevelopment zone, enhancing public transport access.

These projects are expected to enhance the quality of living in South Delhi by offering sophisticated urban addresses that prioritize resident well-being.

The Union Government has directed cities in the National Capital Region, including Gurgaon, to repair potholes within 72 hours to improve urban infrastructure and reduce pollution. This directive includes controlling dust, managing traffic hotspots, and taking action against debris on roads. The expected impact includes smoother traffic flow, reduced fuel consumption, and a decrease in dust pollution.

The Delhi government will launch 75 new schemes and programs during the 'Seva Pakhwada' from September 17 to October 2 to celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 75th birthday, including facilities for visually impaired students, intellectually disabled persons, and senior citizens. As part of 'Sewa Pakhwada', the Delhi government will enroll 50,000 new beneficiaries under the Old Age Pension Scheme and increase the pension allowance by Rs 500. Beneficiaries aged 60 years and above will receive Rs 2,500 per month, up from the earlier Rs 2,000, while those aged 70 years and above will get Rs 3,000 per month, up from Rs 2,500. SC/ST beneficiaries will receive an extra Rs 500 per month.

Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav reviewed measures to control air pollution in Delhi-NCR, emphasizing the need to curb stubble burning, vehicular, industrial, and dust pollution. The meeting assessed key measures, including the installation of Online Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (OCEMS), deployment of Air Pollution Control Devices (APCDs), and improved waste management.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced a series of civic works worth over Rs 3,000 crore, including the Delhi Drainage Master Plan, new multilevel parking lots in GK and Punjabi Bagh, the Nand Nagari flyover, a foot overbridge near the Rajputana Rifles regiment base, and upgrades to sewage and water treatment projects like the Okhla STP and Kondli WWTP.

Two major double-decker flyover projects are nearing completion in 2025. One is between Bhajanpura and Yamuna Vihar, integrating a road flyover with the Maujpur–Majlis Park Metro line. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has invited proposals for the reuse of land reclaimed from the Okhla, Bhalswa, and Ghazipur landfill sites, which are undergoing bioremediation and biomining of legacy waste. The MCD plans to clear and flatten Okhla by July 2026, Bhalswa by December 2026, and Ghazipur by December 2027. A site in Singhola has been identified for processing fresh waste, and another location is being explored in Ghazipur.

The Delhi government will unveil an infrastructure package worth over Rs 3,000 crore, which includes projects for water, sewage, health, and roads. Key projects include the laying of a drainage master plan for the city, the Nand Nagri flyover, new reservoirs, and upgrading sewage treatment plants. The Delhi Jal Board will launch 13 projects, including a new sewer network in Sonia Vihar.
