The Delhi government plans to demolish 34 government schools due to safety and infrastructure concerns and construct 27 new school buildings across the city at an estimated cost of ₹900 crore. The new buildings are expected to be completed within 18 months.

The Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has approved the expansion of the Aqua Line with eight new stations across two corridors. A significant stretch will connect Botanical Garden to Sector 142, aiming for a direct link with the Delhi Metro and another stretch , from sector 51 to Knowledge park V , with sector 61 station , as interchange to Blue line.

The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) and PMAY-U 2.0 have collectively sanctioned over 1.25 crore houses, with more than 1 crore completed and delivered to beneficiaries nationwide. The scheme has a significant share of women beneficiaries, with 1 crore houses allotted to women as sole or joint owners.

The Delhi Cabinet has approved the draft Ease of Doing Business Bill, 2026, which aims to simplify RERA registrations, building approvals, and project clearances through a single-window system. The bill proposes self-certification for low-risk projects and fewer inspections, intending to make real estate project execution faster and more predictable.

The Delhi government announced it will complete all pending reforms under its deregulation and ease of doing business program by mid-August.Key reforms include changes to zoning norms and building regulations, pending the notification of the Master Plan for Delhi-2041 and approval of the Unified Building Bye-Laws, 2026.

The proposed Delhi-Shahdara-Baraut Namo Bharat corridor, managed by NCRTC, is back in focus as part of the region's rapid rail transit vision. While construction details are unannounced, this corridor aims to connect East Delhi with western Uttar Pradesh, easing congestion on existing roads and significantly reducing travel times for commuters.

Retail space leased across malls and high streets in Delhi-NCR rose by 78% year-on-year to 1.3 million sq ft in the first half of 2026. The Delhi government is planning three major flyover projects, including two elevated corridors and a cable-stayed bridge, to tackle traffic congestion on the Ring Road. One flyover will connect Britannia Chowk to the Outer Ring Road, another will link Ankur Enclave to Gokulpuri Metro Station, and a cable-stayed bridge will connect Azadpur and Delhi University's North Campus.
