The long-delayed Barapullah Phase III elevated corridor is scheduled to be inaugurated on September 29. This five-kilometer corridor will provide a signal-free link between Mayur Vihar Phase I in East Delhi and Sarai Kale Khan, with onward connectivity to AIIMS and South Delhi.

In response to student accommodation shortages and safety concerns, the Delhi government has announced plans to construct hostels for 10,000 students. These facilities will be available for both male and female students enrolled in any university or college in Delhi, aiming to provide safe, secure, and affordable housing.

DDA has begun discussions with federations and Cooperative Group Housing Societies (CGHS) for the redevelopment of aging complexes across the city, in line with the Master Plan for Delhi 2047. This initiative aims to not only redevelop buildings but also strengthen surrounding infrastructure and public facilities, including water supply, sewerage, and roads.

The Central government has launched DILRMP 3.0 with a ₹565.5 crore outlay for 2026–31, aiming to integrate land records, maps, and registrations, assign 14-digit Bhu-Aadhaar numbers, and modernize registration offices. This initiative seeks to increase transparency in property transactions and reduce disputes by digitizing legacy records and strengthening urban property mapping.

The Master Plan for Delhi 2047 proposes a regeneration framework for old government colonies, ageing housing societies, and planned residential neighborhoods. This plan allows residents to pool properties for redevelopment into larger, better-planned projects.. Residents may need to cede land for road widening in exchange for additional Floor Area Ratio (FAR) credits.
