Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated two new Delhi Metro corridors and laid the foundation stone for three more under Phase V-A. These new lines, including the Majlis Park-Maujpur Babarpur (Pink Line) and Deepali Chowk-Majlis Park (Magenta Line), are expected to significantly improve connectivity within Delhi and to neighboring NCR cities like Noida, Faridabad, and Gurugram.

The Haryana Government has approved the final alignment for the Greater Noida-Faridabad-Gurugram Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) Project, a 64 km infrastructure development with integrated RRTS-metro hubs and six additional stations, requiring an estimated investment of Rs 150 billion. Corridor will integrate with Delhi Metro, Rapid Metro and Gurugram Metro.

Delhi's Master Plan 2041 is expected to be approved soon, providing a policy framework for the city's land use, housing, and infrastructure development for the next two decades. The government has also highlighted significant development works in South Delhi, including metro expansion, elevated roads, and improved civic amenities, funded by approximately ₹40,000 crore.

The Delhi government has approved an ₹802.18 crore project to redevelop over 241 major roads across the city, aiming to make them pothole-free and durable using a 'wall-to-wall carpeting' model. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also launched multiple water and sewerage projects worth over ₹2,100 crore to improve water supply and sanitation infrastructure.

The Delhi government has announced its agenda for 2026, prioritizing the completion of infrastructure projects, improvement of civic services, cleaning the Yamuna River, and tackling air pollution. Key initiatives include the completion of the Barapullah Phase-3 flyover, construction of new flyovers, and the launch of the 'Delhi Mitra' app for lodging civic complaints. The government also plans to upgrade and construct new sewage treatment plants to combat Yamuna pollution.

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has launched the second phase of its 'Towering Heights' housing scheme in Karkardooma, East Delhi, offering 741 flats on a first-come, first-served basis starting January 23, 2026. This project, featuring a 48-storey tower, aims to provide high-quality housing and boost the real estate market in East Delhi.

To ease severe traffic congestion at Kalindi Kunj junction, the Delhi Traffic Police has proposed the construction of a two-lane, two-way flyover and a C-curve road. This critical point connects Delhi, Noida, and Faridabad, with up to 600,000 vehicles passing through daily. The opening of the Mumbai Expressway has exacerbated the problem, leading to increased traffic volume on this route.

The Delhi government has unveiled a new Drainage Master Plan, nearly 50 years after the last one was prepared in 1976. The plan aims to solve the city's recurring urban flooding and waterlogging issues for the next 30 years. It divides the city into three basins and proposes diverting excess rainwater to lakes and wetlands using nature-based solutions. The plan is expected to cost around Rs 57,362.85 crore .

The Delhi government inaugurated the Nand Nagri flyover, a six-lane project connecting Nand Nagri to Gagan Cinema, aimed at improving connectivity and easing traffic congestion. Spanning 1.5 km, the flyover includes six U-turns and seeks to provide a signal-free route towards Ghaziabad and Seemapuri [i, 12]. The project is part of the government's broader infrastructure development plan [i].
