Thane Focuses on Slum Rehabilitation for SGNP project

The Thane Collector has identified 10 land parcels for slum rehabilitation under the SGN (Sanjay Gandhi Nationl park) Project, aiming to provide safe housing for slum-dwellers in areas like Kopri-Pachpakhadi, Ghodbunder Road, and Kalwa-Mumbra. The Thane district collector has identified around 290 hectares (722 acres) of land to construct tenements for the eligible slum dwellers in villages in Thane, Bhiwandi, Kalyan, Ambernath, Shahapur, and Murbad talukas.

Container Truck Accident Disrupts Traffic on Eastern Express Highway

A container truck accident near Jupiter Hospital on the Eastern Express Highway disrupted traffic for two hours, injuring the driver. The incident occurred on the Mumbai to Nashik lane around 7 am, affecting movement towards Ghodbunder and Nashik. Rabodi police and Thane traffic police officers, along with Hydra cranes, rescued the driver and traffic movement was restored after 2 hours.

With mountains, lakes, and greenery surrounding Sanjay Gandhi National Park, I am beginning to believe this region is very lovely. With frequent buses and automobiles, I am strongly linked to Thane station, the Eastern Express Highway, the Western suburbs, and Borivali. I am glad schools like Hiranandani Foundation School and hospitals like Jupiter Hospital and Hiranandani Hospital are near. Even at night with busy streets and security, I feel secure. For outings, I like Viviana and Hypercity, among others. I sense my money is justified. I am advising urgent upgrades in traffic management throughout peak hours and improved monsoon drainage.
