The 5.8-kilometer Ulwe Coastal Road, with an additional 0.9-kilometer link to the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) terminal, is on track for completion by September 2026, with traffic expected to commence by October or November. This project by CIDCO will provide a direct route from the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (Atal Setu) to NMIA, saving travelers approximately 25 minutes.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) metro network expansion includes a proposed Line 8, also known as the Gold Line, connecting Mumbai and Navi Mumbai airports, with a target completion in late 2028. The 35 km corridor, estimated to cost Rs 20,000 crore, will begin underground at CSMIA, surface near Chembur, and continue elevated through Mankhurd, Vashi, Nerul, Belapur, and NMIA. An additional 8.5 km loop is proposed to connect Seawoods with NMIA.

Citizens in Ulwe are campaigning against illegal animal slaughter and the open sale of mutton near the Navi Mumbai International Airport. A hunger striker was hospitalized during the protest. DGCA has been investigating the issue following complaints about the violation of aviation safety norms, which prohibit animal slaughter within a 10-kilometer radius of any airport.

The Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) is scheduled to be inaugurated on September 30, 2025, and is expected to alleviate congestion at the existing Mumbai airport. The airport's design is inspired by the lotus flower and will feature modern, sustainable infrastructure. Phase 1 will have the capacity to handle 20 million passengers annually, eventually expanding to four terminals and two runways for 90 million passengers per year. IndiGo and Akasa Air are confirmed to operate from NMIA at launch. Images of the under-construction airport have surfaced, showcasing its lotus-inspired design and spacious terminals. The Mahayuti government delayed the inauguration due to pitru paksha, considering September 30 an auspicious date. The airport will be accessible via road, rail, and water transport, including the Atal Setu.

I used to live in Ulwe a long time back and my overall experience in the locality was very good. The neighborhood was amiable and the locality had all the necessities to fulfill my demands. There were several shopping malls such as Haware Malls, Nexus Seawoods and so on. There are many banks and ATMs around the locality as well. However, construction debris was dumped near the mangroves in Ulwe, which was illegal.

I have lived in Ulwe all my life and I think it is one of the best localities in Navi Mumbai with several tourist attractions such as Mango Garden, Jewel of Navi Mumbai, Belapur Fort, and all these locations are within a 7-8 Km radius. There are several good hospitals in Ulwe such as Sree Samarth, Feenixx, Ulwe Superspeciality and so on. Waterlogging during monsoons is a major concern.

My lucky break was finding an inexpensive location with such great possibility. I really enjoy living in Ulwe. This will be the next major central centre thanks to the MTHL connection and future Navi Mumbai International Airport. Thanks to the Ulwe Railway Station and the Nerul-Uran Rail Line, connectivity is already excellent. Radcliffe School and Feenixx Hospital nearby and the upcoming Metro Line 8 would further improve transportation. One big advantage in this calm and secure neighbourhood is that rent remains delightfully reasonable here. For everyday necessities, though, we really need more local shopping marts and varied eateries. Also, some inner roads demand better street illumination for better night-time safety.

Negatives: Since pollution is a major issue here, general cleanliness and garbage disposal have to be better. The older internal highways need immediate repair and better infrastructure as they are falling apart or damaged in places. The sewage disposal system has maintenance and waterlogging problems that have to be addressed right immediately.

Positives: Choosing Ulwe was about future promise and value. Sitting just near Seawoods, I adored the simple access and the green surroundings it offered. Kharkopar Station on the Nerul-Uran rail line simplified travel. Essential services soon showed up. Excellent schools and neighbourhood hospitals are now available. It was a pleasant, reasonably priced beginning, therefore a very unforgettable residence.

Negatives: Frequent, low-quality water cuts relying much on tankers were a genuine pain. It was aggravating. Furthermore, outside of the major clusters, established commercial and adequate civic services were occasionally slow to arrive. Often, the growth of the region seemed ahead of its current local services.

Negatives: Often confronting water logging and sewage disposal issues, honestly, we still need more nearby daily purchasing stores and many restaurant alternatives.

Negatives: For the low rents and space, I strongly suggest this establishment. Better daily life depends on two issues, though, which need very much fixing. For night safety, internal roadways in several industries require immediate repair and improved street lighting. Furthermore, uneven in some areas is the water supply. Frustration can result from this.

Positives: Not long ago, I resided in Ulwe. I looked forward to the neighbourhood’s development. It was peaceful and travelling was made easier thanks to Kharkopar Railway Station. Being close to the vast planned Navi Mumbai International Airport made the property a wise purchase. The proximity to important routes and the easy access to fundamental schools and clinics made daily living simple, feeling like a really well-designed CIDCO node with significant long-term possibilities.

Negatives: Roads frequently had construction dust. Clearly the area has to be improved. Frequent water supply outages, bad drainage and road conditions, a desperate dearth of large hospitals, and stringent action against illegal rubbish dumping have to be fixed.

One of the main advantages is connectivity; the Kharkopar and Bamandongri stations simplify travel. Moreover, the airport and future MTHL will be remarkable. One can reach both Ulwe Super Specialty Hospital and Radcliffe School. It's also rather green, so the neighbourhood is calm.

Negatives: Still, three key aspects need focus. Extensive constant construction leads to dust and traffic jams. Additionally, required is better garbage management; some drains remain open, appearing terrible. Although the area is typically secure, I would like more police patrols, particularly later at night.
