Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation (MRVC) has made significant progress on suburban rail projects. The Panvel-Karjat New Suburban Corridor is nearing completion, The Virar-Dahanu Road Quadrupling Project is progressing fast. Signalling and telecommunication works have been commissioned at Kelve Road station.

Navi Mumbai International Airport is emerging as a crucial alternative for cargo operations as Mumbai Airport undergoes runway and taxiway upgrades, leading to a temporary suspension of its freighter services. Airlines like Cathay Cargo, Air France, and Lufthansa Cargo are exploring or confirming shifts to Navi Mumbai.

Panvel has outlined a long-term infrastructure development strategy focusing on water security and transport connectivity. Key proposals include the Shilar Dam project and increasing the height of Dehrang Dam to bolster water supply. The Nhava-Sheva Water Supply Scheme (Phase III) is also being expedited.

As part of the Mumbai 3.0 initiative, the MMRDA has allocated ₹4,000 crore for the development of the KSC (Karnala-Sai-Chirner) Navnagar Project. This project will develop 323.44 sq. km, covering 124 villages in Panvel, Uran, and Pen talukas of Raigad district.

Navi Mumbai International Airport will commence international passenger and cargo operations from July 15, 2026. Airlines such as Air India Express and IndiGo are slated to operate international flights from the Adani Group-owned facility.

CIDCO has launched the bidding process for the first phase of a 925-acre Integrated Logistics Park (ILP) at Pushpak Node, Navi Mumbai. This is expected to be one of the largest logistics infrastructure projects in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The first phase involves leasing approximately 174 acres near Chirle village.

The Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) has significantly improved connectivity between Sewri and Navi Mumbai, boosting real estate demand in areas like Ulwe and Panvel, with property values already seeing a 10-30% jump. This, along with the Navi Mumbai International Airport and metro expansion, is supporting sustained housing demand in the region.

Mumbai is preparing for a 10% water supply cut starting May 15 due to low levels in water storage lakes and concerns about a potential delay in the monsoon. This follows recent disruptions caused by a pipeline repair in Mahalaxmi, which affected areas like Chembur, Kurla, and Ghatkopar.

CIDCO has identified a 100-hectare site in Karanjade, Panvel, near the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), to develop India's first integrated International Educity. This project aims to host foreign universities, research centers, and student housing, positioning Navi Mumbai as a global education destination.
