CIDCO has commenced development of the International Educity at Kundevahal, Panvel, aiming to establish Navi Mumbai as a global education hub. The project, spanning approximately 100 hectares, will integrate world-class healthcare, education, sports facilities, and skill development centers.

Panvel Municipal Corporation is undertaking a significant project to plant 1.25 lakh trees along the Sion-Panvel Highway. This initiative aims to restore greenery lost due to highway widening and create a green corridor. The project will utilize native species and incorporate a drip irrigation system for maintenance, with plans to involve local communities and environmental groups. This long-term investment is expected to contribute to a greener and healthier city.

A large-scale cleanliness drive was conducted on the Sion-Panvel Highway and Thane-Belapur Road in Navi Mumbai as part of the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign. Over 7,000 participants, including citizens and civic officials, joined the drive. The effort involved removing litter, plastic, and overgrown vegetation.

The Karnala-Sai-Chirner (KSC) New Town project, also known as 'Third Mumbai', is transforming the luxury residential market with integrated smart urban planning, luxury living, and strategic infrastructure. The project includes improved connectivity and a mix of high-end and affordable housing. The initiative spans approximately 332 square kilometers, integrating areas from 124 villages in the Uran, Panvel, and Pen talukas of Raigad district.

Navi Mumbai and surrounding regions experienced heavy rain, leading to waterlogging and disruption of local train networks. Over 400 people were evacuated from their homes in Panvel due to rising water levels. A Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation official stated that the volume of rain overwhelmed many systems.

Several infrastructure projects are underway in Navi Mumbai to improve connectivity and reduce travel time. These include the Panvel to Karjat Railway Corridor, Kharghar and Ulwe Coastal Roads, and the Kharghar-Turbhe Tunnel.

Navi Mumbai residents are complaining about pothole-filled roads in Kharghar, questioning the logic of paying property tax without adequate infrastructure facilities. The Panvel City Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has commenced concretization work on road junctions and asphalting work will commence within 15 days.

The Panvel Municipal Corporation's draft ward structure for the upcoming civic polls has moved closer to finalization after hearings on objections concluded on September 18. A total of 282 objections were received, with 101 applicants appearing for the hearing.

Central Railway will operate a Mega Block on its suburban sections on September 21 for engineering and maintenance works, affecting UP and DOWN FAST lines between Thane and Kalyan stations from 10:40 a.m. to 3:40 p.m. Down Fast/Semi-Fast locals from CSMT will be diverted on the Down Slow line, stopping at Kalva, Mumbra, and Diva stations, arriving 10 minutes late.

The first phase of Metro Line 2B, connecting Mandale and Chembur, is slated to open in the second week of October, following an inspection by the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety. This new corridor is expected to reduce travel time by 15-20 minutes along V N Purav Road and the Sion-Panvel Highway and improve connectivity for residents in the eastern suburbs.
