Unitech Unihomes Phase I Sector 117, Noida

Unitech Unihomes Phase 1, located in Sector 117, Noida, was launched in November 2009 and offers 1, 2, and 3 BHK apartments. The project is spread across 10 acres and features 1032 units.

Apartment owners of Unihomes in Sector 117, Noida, staged a silent protest march against Unitech, demanding the speeding up of construction work to ensure the handover of properties/flats at the earliest. The project was launched in 2009, with handover initially scheduled for January 2011, but has considerably overstepped its scheduled completion date.

Flat owners of Unitech's under-construction housing projects in Noida protested delays in completion by petitioning government ministers at a NAREDCO convention. Unitech Uni Homes Buyers Association Secretary Pankaj Shrivastava stated that the project, comprising approximately 3,000 flats, was launched in 2009 and remained incomplete.

Noida Authority approved Unitech's revised layouts, potentially restarting construction after a 10-year delay, following a Supreme Court order. In Sector 117, Unitech launched Exquisite, The Residences, Unihomes 1 and 2, Uniworld, and Gardens, comprising 3,327 homebuyers, of whom 1,036 have sought refunds.

Work on Unitech's housing projects in Noida is set to resume after a delay of more than 10 years, following Noida Authority's approval of Unitech's revised layout in June this year, in keeping with a Supreme Court order. In Sector 117, the company has several projects, including Exquisite, The Residences, Unihomes 1 and 2, Uniworld, and Gardens, with a total of 3,327 homebuyers.

The Delhi High Court granted bail to Unitech founder Ramesh Chandra in a money laundering case related to the alleged cheating of several homebuyers. The ED accused Chandra of diverting homebuyers' money, around ₹380.80 crore, to Carnoustie Management Pvt. Ltd. from Unitech Ltd. between 2007-08 and 2011-12.

The Supreme Court cautioned state authorities against creating hurdles in the completion of stalled Unitech housing projects, saying it will take a serious view of non-compliance of its orders. The court also directed the Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board to grant environmental clearances to Unitech projects being constructed at Noida.
