The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) approved the Mumbai-based Suraksha Group's bid to acquire Jaypee Infratech Ltd, offering relief to over 20,000 homebuyers. The ruling paves the way for the completion of over 20,000 housing units in stalled projects across Noida and Greater Noida.

The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) upheld Suraksha Realty's acquisition bid for Jaypee Infratech but mandated an additional Rs 1,335 crore as compensation to farmers, payable to Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) over four years. The decision aims to expedite the resolution plan, addressing concerns of stakeholders, including homebuyers and YEIDA.

Hundreds of frustrated homebuyers protested in Noida against Jaypee Infratech's delayed housing projects, even after the Suraksha Group took over a year ago promising completion within four years. Represented by JREAWS, protestors breached barricades demanding faster construction and a meeting with the CEO was secured, with follow-ups planned to review progress.

A local court ordered a 100-metre protest-free zone around Jaypee Infratech's headquarters in Sector 128, Noida, following a civil suit filed by Jaypee Infratech against homebuyers. The court's decision came after allegations that demonstrators had disrupted operations, blocked access, and intimidated staff.
