Gurugram's Built-Up Area Expands by 64% in a Decade, GMDA Study Reveals

A geospatial study by GMDA shows that Gurugram's built-up area has increased by nearly 64% from 2015 to 2025. The study projects continued urban expansion along key development corridors through 2030 and was undertaken to inform planning for roads, drainage, water supply, sewerage, public transport, and traffic management systems.

GMDA to Rebuild Key Stormwater Drain on Old Delhi-Gurgaon Road

The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is set to reconstruct a three-decade-old master stormwater drain along the Old Delhi-Gurgaon Road. The 2.8 km stretch, estimated to cost Rs 32 crore, aims to eliminate drainage bottlenecks and prevent waterlogging during heavy rainfall.

GMDA Plans New Stormwater Drain to Combat DLF Phase 2 Flooding

To address chronic waterlogging in DLF Phase 2 and surrounding areas, GMDA plans to construct a 2.1-km stormwater drainage line. This project, estimated at Rs 3.6 crore, will channel rainwater into the master drain along the Sector 17-18 dividing road, aiming to mitigate flooding during monsoons. The construction is expected to take at least seven months.

During Q1'2026, average property prices for Ram Karan Complex moved from ₹ 15,350/sqft to ₹ 16,450/sqft, reflecting a 7.17% rise.
