The state government is actively encouraging Public-Private Partnership (PPP) models for infrastructure projects. Across Andhra Pradesh, infrastructure projects worth approximately Rs 20,000 crore are underway.Vijayawada is set to benefit from projects under the Urban Challenge Fund, with plans to secure approvals for additional projects valued at around Rs 12,000 crore.

The Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) has reported tax collections of approximately INR 267 crore for the financial year 2025-26, surpassing its target of INR 265 crore.The improved tax collection is expected to support the VMC's expenditure on essential services like water supply, sanitation, and urban infrastructure, potentially leading to better civic amenities.

The NTR district police have announced major traffic diversions in Vijayawada for the upcoming Dasara festivities, which will be held from September 22 to October 2. Specific routes will be altered for vehicles heading towards the high court and Amaravati. Heavy vehicles will face restrictions on Sept 29 from 2 am to Sept 30, 10 am, and will not be allowed towards Hyderabad. These vehicles will be diverted via Chilakaluripet, Narasaraopet, Miryalaguda, and Nalgonda.
