Angry flat owners of Amrapali Golf Homes protested against the builder for delaying possession of homes and refusing to pay penalties. Home buyers allege that construction got stalled two years ago and despite repeated meetings between the flat owners and the builder, there has been no headway.

Homebuyers protested outside the BJP office in Delhi, alleging delays of 6-8 years in getting possession of their homes and accusing the builder of collecting ₹25-25 lakh and not completing the project.

NBCC, appointed as a Project Management Consultant, stated it would not be held responsible for existing disputes, contracts entered into by Amrapali, or past/present liabilities, as homebuyers are approaching different courts seeking refunds or possession. A complaint has also been preferred by one of the home buyers of the Amrapali Golf Homes, Greater Noida.

Amrapali homebuyers were given a final opportunity to take key handover of their units from NBCC within 30 days, or their units would be deemed cancelled. Many Amrapali Group homebuyers have received notifications asking them to confirm their eligibility for the no–objection certificate and possession letter after the court receiver's office verified their documents.

The Supreme Court stated that the Amrapali Group cases could not continue indefinitely and requested a compliance report on its directives. The court receiver reported that NBCC had completed approximately 25,000 flats in the stalled housing projects.
