Experts Discuss 'Demagnetizing' Bengaluru to Manage Growth and Traffic

They highlighted that the city's infrastructure, particularly roads and public transport, is struggling to keep pace with population growth.

Bengaluru to White-Top 450 km of Roads to Combat Potholes

Bengaluru Smart Infrastructure Ltd (B-SMILE) is developing a blueprint to white-top ( Cement plastering ) , an additional 450 kilometers of roads across the city at an estimated cost of Rs 30 billion. The project also includes improvements to footpaths, contributing to better urban infrastructure and commuter safety.

This delay impacts commuters in South Bengaluru, and the ongoing construction has led to poor road conditions with numerous potholes, especially on Bannerghatta Road. BMRCL blames other civic agencies for not restoring the road properly after digging.
