Positives: I stayed in Chembur for some time, and I enjoyed its good connectivity. Trains, the monorail and easy road connectivity (SCLR/Eastern Express Highway) made it easy to commute, and I would often reach offices and the airport without much ado. There were quality schools, shopping centers and green spaces like local parks, along with vibrant community clubs like Chembur Gymkhana. New housing projects gave the area a modern but homey feel. Negatives: The negatives were bad air quality and stinky odors sometimes because of the adjacent Deonar dumping ground and dust from construction. Also, increasing property rents and constant construction noise broke quiet evenings. In spite of these, I departed Chembur with pleasant memories of courtesy neighbors and helpful amenities.

Positives: Chembur is with great connectivity through the Monorail, Eastern Freeway, and Santacruz Chembur Link Road. It has well rated schools like St. Gregorios and Loreto Convent, as well as well known hospitals like Shree Hospital and Chembur Nursing Home. The city is sprinkled with parks and recreational areas, making it a good place for families. In addition, Chembur boasts a strong cultural heritage, with active communities and festivals like Durga Puja hosted with vigor. Negatives: While having many strengths, Chembur also struggles with issues such as excessive traffic jams during rush hours, particularly around main junctions and markets. Moreover, locals have complained of periodic foul smells from nearby industrial processes, creating issues about air purity.

Positives: I have recently shifted to Chembur, and I absolutely love the mix of convenience and greens there. The locality has great connectivity via railway, monorail, and bus, and the airport is just a 15-minute drive away. There are good schools, hospitals, and shopping malls around, and I love going out to parks such as Papu Udyan and Green Fields. Restaurants and local eateries make weekends interesting. Negatives: On the downside, traffic jams are frequent during peak hours, and waterlogging happens during monsoons. Pollution has increased due to commercial growth, and occasional power cuts can be frustrating. Some streets feel crowded, especially near markets. Even with these issues, Chembur’s green spaces, connectivity, and overall livability make it a comfortable place to stay, and I’m happy calling it home.
