The Bombay High Court restrained a developer from allowing a person possession of a flat which was sold again because of price escalation. The court passed the order after a suit was filed by a couple seeking the execution of the agreement signed between them and the developer in April 2009. The developer had unilaterally increased the price of the flat from Rs 70.83 lakh to Rs 98.28 lakh, and then sold the flat to another family for Rs 2.05 crore.

The Bombay High Court rejected the anticipatory bail applications of two builders in four FIRs registered against them by flat buyers in Palghar in 2019 for allegedly accepting approximately Rs 34 lakh from them between 2012-14 and failing to give possession of the flats within the stipulated time period. Investigations are being carried out by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Palghar police. 67 more victims who invested money in their project have come forward claiming they have been duped similarly, and the total duped amount is now in crores of rupees.

Aditi Seven Heights, developed by Aditi Builders and Developers, was officially launched on October 3, 2022, and is expected to be completed by December 31, 2025. The project is registered under RERA with number P99000047103. The project comprises 3 towers and offers 81 residential units, including shops, 1 BHK, and 2 BHK flats.

The Bombay High Court criticized the Maharashtra government and civic bodies for failing to take action against illegal constructions in Palghar. The court ordered the demolition of an unauthorized structure in Palghar district and criticized the state for shielding violators and failing to prosecute civic officials. The court highlighted the inaction of civic authorities and the slow pace of legal proceedings against violators.

The Budget 2026 clarifies that mistakes in Income Tax orders will not nullify them if they contain a Document Identification Number (DIN). Amendments clarify that assessment cannot be invalidated on the ground of any mistake, defect, or omission in quoting DIN, if the assessment order is referenced by a DIN in any manner. These amendments have been brought in retrospectively to bring clarity and reduce litigation.
