Chandigarh's Leisure Valley in Sector 10, once envisioned as the 'Lungs of the City,' is suffering from neglect with broken tracks, waterlogging, and poor sanitation. A Rs 2.34-crore project has been approved for its comprehensive revamp, aiming to make it more disabled-friendly and visitor-friendly.

A portion of the dividing road between Sectors 33 and 45 in Chandigarh has caved in due to heavy rains, highlighting weaknesses in the city's civic infrastructure. The municipal corporation has barricaded the area, and an investigation is underway to determine if the storm water pipeline contributed to the collapse.

A city-wide survey by the Municipal Corporation has identified over 250 under-construction structures as illegal, with more still under scrutiny. Violations include construction without approved plans, commercial activities in residential areas, and significant deviations from sanctioned maps.

The Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) has identified over ₹1,014 crore in outstanding dues from major real estate developers, including External Development Charges and license fees. This has led to a halt in fresh approvals for affected projects, raising concerns among homebuyers.

CHB plans to auction 79 commercial booths and 14 residential units on a freehold basis starting next week. This initiative aims to generate revenue and provide housing opportunities. The CHB is also preparing to launch a general housing scheme with stilt-plus-six storey flats in Sector 53, 250 residential units on 2 plots of 4.5 acres each.

NHAI has awarded the construction work for the Zirakpur-Panchkula bypass (19.2 km) and a spur connecting it to the Ambala-Chandigarh expressway (10.3 km). This Rs 1,983-crore project aims to dismantle the chronic traffic gridlock in Zirakpur and surrounding areas by creating a six-lane bypass.

The Municipal Corporation , Chandigarh's Finance and Contract Committee (F&CC) has approved a record 67 development works totaling ₹14.71 crore. These projects encompass the renovation of community centers, upgradation of markets with LED lighting, and installation of modern street lighting. Significant focus is also placed on road and street infrastructure, public health, sanitation, and green initiatives .

CMC has floated tenders for the construction of new community centres and the reconstruction of existing ones in various sectors, including Sector 24, Sector 29, Sector 51, Bapudham Colony (Sector 26), Manimajra, and Sector 63. These projects, with an estimated cost of over ₹10 crore for Sector 24 and ₹8 crore for Sector 29, aim to provide enhanced amenities and facilities to residents.
