Signalling and telecommunication works have been commissioned at Kelve Road station.

Mumbai is set to launch its Water Metro project, with Phase 1 planning 16 routes and 26 terminals to connect Mumbai with Navi Mumbai, Thane, Vasai, and other areas. Utilizing electric ferries, the project aims to significantly reduce travel time by up to 50% on certain routes, ease traffic congestion on roads and local trains, and provide an eco-friendly transportation alternative.

Virar Station Platforms Upgraded to Accommodate 15-Coach Trains

Western Railway and Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation have completed significant capacity augmentation works at Virar station. Platforms 3A and 4A have been widened and extended to handle 15-coach local trains, replacing the previous 12-coach capacity. A new platform, 5A, has also been constructed. This upgrade is expected to boost carrying capacity and improve commuter experience on the western corridor.

A total of 14 out of 34 launched units have been booked as of February 2026, including 43% of 2 BHK(12 out of 28 units), 100% of 3 BHK(1 units), 1 RK(1 units).
