Mumbai-Pune Expressway 'Missing Link' Project Set for May 1 Inauguration, Promising Safer and Faster Travel

The highly anticipated 'Missing Link' project on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway is set to be inaugurated on May 1, significantly reducing travel time by approximately 30 minutes and enhancing safety. The 10.5-km stretch features tunnels and a bridge, bypassing the accident-prone Khandala Ghat. This infrastructure upgrade is expected to ease traffic congestion, improve travel safety.

Mumbai-Pune Expressway Missing Link Nears Completion, Expected to Open by April-End

The Mumbai-Pune Expressway 'missing link' project is 99% complete and expected to be ready by April-end. This 13.3-km bypass between Khopoli and Kusgaon will alleviate congestion on the ghat section, reducing travel time between Mumbai and Pune by 25-30 minutes. The project is expected to significantly lower fuel consumption and vehicular emissions.

Pune Infrastructure Projects Advance: Rail Upgrade, Civic Improvements, and Electricity Network Boost

Pune is experiencing advancements in several infrastructure projects. The Pune-Lonavla rail corridor is being upgraded to facilitate speeds of up to 130 kmph by June 2026.The state government has sanctioned ₹350 crore to strengthen the electricity network in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad. Works are expedited for water supply infrastructure projects in the Aundh-Bopodi area.
