Silk Board Double-Decker Flyover Nears Full Opening

The remaining 3.5-km stretch of Bengaluru's Silk Board double-decker flyover between Silk Board Junction and Ragigudda is expected to become operational by the end of March, subject to final approvals. This project, part of the Namma Metro Yellow Line, aims to improve connectivity between HSR Layout, BTM Layout,,Ragigudda, JP Nagar and Banashankari.

Ragigudda Double-Decker Flyover Opening Postponed to January 2026

The opening of the second arm of the Ragigudda double-decker flyover, connecting HSR Layout and Electronics City, has been postponed to the end of January 2026. This delay, attributed to heavy traffic and restrictions on work hours, has caused frustration among residents . Once operational, the flyover is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion at the Silk Board junction.

A proposal has been made to construct a tunnel for cyclists and pedestrians using a portion of defense land to connect HSR Layout with neighboring residential areas, aiming to improve non-motorized mobility. Concerns have been raised about preserving defense land as green buffers and the potential difficulties in acquiring it for civic use.
