Phoenix Mills is a name to reckon with in the Indian real estate sector. Phoenix Mills Ltd was founded in 1905 as a textile manufacturing company headed by Mr Ramnarayan Ruia. The company got listed on the BSE in 1959 and later ventured into real estate.
The Phoenix group launched its flagship consumption center, High Street Phoenix (HSP), in 1987. It went on to carve a niche for itself in the real estate industry by developing commercial spaces, entertainment complexes, mega retail malls, luxury hospitality centres, and residential units. This century-old company began its geographical expansion in 2011 by launching three Phoenix Market Cities in Bengaluru, Pune, and Kurla. It stepped into the food and beverages industry in 2014.
Today Phoenix Mills stands as the largest retail-led mixed-use asset developer in India. It has to its credit some of the biggest names under different asset classes, including the iconic Palladium Mall in Mumbai, One Bangalore West luxury tower in Bengaluru, the Phoenix Market City at Chennai, and Courtyard by Mariott, the 5-star hotel in Agra. By 2020, the company had developed over 17.5 million square feet of retail, commercial, hospitality, and residential spaces. It has real estate assets in Mumbai, Chennai, Pune, Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Agra, among other places. With new expansion plans in the pipeline, Phoenix Mills is set to achieve many more milestones in the future.
