The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is facing a potential financial hit of ₹250 crore due to a design and construction flaw on the Metro 7A corridor. This issue, related to height restrictions near the airport, could lead to demolition and reconstruction, impacting the project's timeline and budget.

A total of 11 residential transactions has been registered so far for Sahakar Vista, amounting to ₹ 7 Cr till August 2026.

During Q2'2026, average property prices for Sahakar Vista moved from ₹ 18,700/sqft to ₹ 24,400/sqft, reflecting a 30.48% rise.

MMRDA Presents Surplus Budget with Significant Allocation for Infrastructure

MMRDA has presented a surplus budget of ₹48,072 crore, with 87% allocated to infrastructure projects, including roads, public transport, and urban development. A notable provision of ₹4,000 crore is earmarked for the development of Mumbai 3.0 New Town, aiming for planned urban expansion.

BMC Budget Includes ₹6,475 Crore for Water Security Projects

The BMC's FY26-27 budget includes a substantial allocation of ₹6,475 crore for water security initiatives. This funding is designated for projects such as the Manori desalination plant (₹500 crore) and the Gargai project (₹437.51 crore), aimed at augmenting the city's water supply capacity.

The Versova-Dahisar stretch of the Mumbai Coastal Road (North) project has received a significant allocation of ₹4,000 crore in the BMC's FY26-27 budget. This 25-km-long corridor aims to connect Versova in the western suburbs with Bhayander in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

The highly anticipated 'Missing Link' project on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway is set to be inaugurated on May 1, significantly reducing travel time by approximately 30 minutes and enhancing safety. The 10.5-km stretch features tunnels and a bridge, bypassing the accident-prone Khandala Ghat. This infrastructure upgrade is expected to ease traffic congestion, improve travel safety.

MMRDA Accelerates Atal Setu–Mumbai–Pune Expressway Link Project, Targeting February 2027 Completion

MMRDA has made significant progress on the 7.35 km Atal Setu–Mumbai–Pune Expressway connector. With foundation and girder works advancing, the project is on track for completion by February 2027. This will enable signal-free travel and faster connectivity between Mumbai and Pune.
