Positives One of the best things I like about Jayanagar is the abundance of greenery in the area. There are wide roads, and some really cool houses here. The crowd is mostly well-behaved and well-established. It’s certainly got that Old Bangalore feeling, while the 4th Block Market is an institution in itself, offering plenty of opportunities for picking up affordable stuff at great bargains. DPS, National Public School, and many other reputed educational institutions are also located nearby. Overall, it’s a posh area to stay in. My one grouse is that the international airport is too far away, taking about 1 hour and 15 minutes on average. This leads to some tensions, when I have late night flights.

Krishna Rao Park is our regular hangout, and of course, the local market is quite bustling and vibrant. Positives Jayanagar is one of those quintessentially posh localities. I’m so happy to have lived here for as long as I can remember. I still like taking long walks throughout the area, with the quaint houses, the trees, the wide roads, and the charming parks, including the M.N. Krishna Rao Park, which is my favourite. Of course, the hospitals, schools, stores, and markets are all available, while the soft Cauvery water supply is also a big game-changer. I also like the Cool Joint and other local eateries here, along with the 4th Block vibe, with its shopping, street bustle, and fabulous bargains. It also helps that we can access the BMTC buses and Namma Metro Green Line pretty easily. My only issue is the long commuting time to Whitefield, where I work. The rest is absolutely fine, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

One good aspect is that you get the soft Cauvery water supply, while many other localities in the city get hard water. Civic infrastructure is mostly good in this posh and costly neighbourhood. The Electronic City IT hub is also within half an hour, which helps me reach my workplace without any hassles. You should also try the local food from the Kannadiga eateries here, which is one plus point of living in the locality. The only thing I can mention for improvement is the traffic congestion, especially in the commercial area like 4th Block.

One of the good things here is that you can easily take a walk without being disturbed by the noise and traffic issues. Another good hub is the 4th Block, which is where you will find street markets and shopping complexes. I often pick up stuff here, like jewellery and accessories, at fantastic bargains. Several local eateries are present here, giving you authentic Kannada food and other delicacies. So, I’m very happy to live here, with the only issue being the limited availability of parking slots, which is problematic at times.

Positives Positives: Jayanagar was a lovely place to stay for me. The area is famous for its well-developed layout. It provides a serene atmosphere in the midst of city chaos. I liked the proximity to the Lalbagh Botanical Garden, offering a green oasis for walking during the mornings. The region has good schools like RV College of Engineering and National College, providing quality educational facilities. BGS Gleneagles Global Hospital and Sagar Hospitals are well-connected healthcare facilities. The options to shop at places like Forum Mall and Gopalan Innovation Mall also made the place more convenient. Nevertheless, in peak hours, the area is highly congested with traffic, and the drainage system is in need of improvement in order to avoid waterlogging during rainy seasons.

Positives Positives: I truly feel I hit the jackpot when I purchased my house here. I have to say Jayanagar is a very green and settled core of South Bangalore. I just adore the old-world appeal coupled with instant convenience. Proximity to necessities is excellent, with quality hospitals such as BGS and good schools, and the Jayanagar Metro station is great for getting into town. We tend to spend time at the several parks or the renowned 4th Block market. My sole real worry, as with many, is that peak hour traffic congestion requires a serious improvement. I believe this improvement contributes to meeting the overall high standard of the area.

Positives Positives: I have a flat in Jayanagar, and I like the green old-Bangalore character. There are good schools, the Jayanagar shopping complex, Lalbagh close by, and convenient metro and bus connectivity, making everyday living convenient. Street markets, parks and hospitals are shut, and the neighborhood is secure and family-oriented.

Things to Consider Negatives: But I have three issues. First, narrow roads become congested, and small trips are long-drawn-out. Second, monsoon waterlogging and uprooted trees clog the streets, which is irritating. And, some promised road work and civic assurances are still pending. I need more robust drainage work, quicker pothole repairs, and better parking regulations so dwelling here becomes convenient and hassle-free for us. I am happy to call Jayanagar my home since it harmonizes tradition with modern requirements.

Positives Positives: I wake to birds and tree-lined avenues in Jayanagar, and the peaceful atmosphere here is something I enjoy. A tenant I like shady parks, tidy streets, the renowned 4th-Block shopping complex for the daily buy, decent schools in proximity and a very convenient metro connection that makes commuting easy.

Things to Consider Negatives: Negatives I observe are that there are some local footpaths and roads that require repair, and locals complain about civic neglect. Also, parking close to markets is congested; periodic construction noise in pockets. Moreover, a few corners are more commercialised than peaceful residential blocks. Excluding these, I am comfortable and safe. This locality provides me with a serene, handy home.

Positives Positives: I had stayed in Jayanagar for years and I remembered its peaceful, old-world charm. I had tree-lined roads, quite a few well-maintained parks for walkabout in the mornings, and dependable Cauvery water supply. Good schools, hospitals and the bustling 4th Block shopping complex were always within reach, and small restaurants and local markets made life friendly and convenient.

Things to Consider Negatives: But dwelling there came with some genuine disadvantages. Civic maintenance was uneven, like I noticed potholes and damaged footpaths in some areas, drains clogged up with water during rains, commercialisation had introduced noise to parts of the neighborhood, and parking spaces close to markets were scarce. Nevertheless, I maintained warm recollections of Jayanagar's neighbourhood atmosphere and green streets. I had set out with quiet appreciation for my stay there, always.

Positives Positives: I have lived in my house here in Jayanagar for more than two decades, and I can safely say it's the most comfortable place to reside in Bangalore. It's well-planned with broad roads, big parks, and avenue trees on the streets that make the air clean. Schools such as National and Carmel, and hospitals such as Sagar, are just minutes away from my home. The Jayanagar 4th Block market is always vibrant. The metro connectivity provides actual convenience. It retains that old-Bangalore charm.

Things to Consider Negatives: With that, there are a couple of negatives as well. Property prices have gone very high, and it is tough to expand. Certain older roads and footpaths require more maintenance, and parking near commercial areas is a nightmare. Nevertheless, I would not replace Jayanagar with any other location.

Positives It was my dream to live in Jayanagar, since I’m an original born and brought up product of Bangalore. We have seen that clean and quiet city in our childhood, and I always wanted a neighbourhood to invest in when the family finally wanted to buy a home and stop renting. Jayanagar was close to our original rental accommodation, and the neighbourhood kind of grows on you, with its charming roads, some of the loveliest houses you’ll see in Bangalore, the trees, greenery, and the overall community vibe. Once you’ve lived here, you’ll not want to stay anywhere else, although traffic jams and commercial development are now a slight issue, with so many retail outlets and cafes coming up.

Positives So, living in Jayanagar was honestly very peaceful. I’m not happy that I had to move out for work-related reasons. The area was ideal for morning walks, with all the trees and some of the buildings were a treat to watch and even photograph. It was vintage Bangalore during my time here, without the heavy traffic. Also, my parents were ageing, and hence we thought that easy connectivity to the Manipal Hospital would help. Colleges were coming up and many commercial zones, making it a lively neighborhood.

Things to Consider My parents still live here, and they complain that road maintenance needs to be better, since there are potholes in many places. Also, the markets are very crowded, and traffic congestion has gone up due to more restaurants and all.

Positives: I was smitten with its vintage Bangalore look. Lalbagh and some parks were just a stone's throw away, so I walked in the morning. The area was safe, with quality schools, clinics and the iconic Jayanagar Shopping Complex to cater to my daily requirements. Fourth Block street shopping, little cafes and old-fashioned eateries made weekends entertaining. Public transport and metro connectivity made it easy for me to travel around the city. Negatives: I notice some drawbacks, such as increasing property and rental prices, which made it expensive to stay. Also, traffic and busy market streets were occasionally stressful, and some areas had poor cleanliness and scattered civic maintenance. Despite these drawbacks, I departed with fond memories of peaceful streets, friendly neighbours and convenient shopping nearby, and would happily be back one day.

Positives: The location has picturesque tree-lined roads and parks like Lalbagh within reach, so there is peace & greenery everywhere, even in the city. There are good schools, decent hospitals like BGS Gleneagles, and lots of shopping from local bazaars to high-end boutiques and restaurants everything is within reach. The connectivity is good, bus route, metro connectivity, well-constructed roads make mobility easy. Negatives: There are some roads that are in a damaged condition, particularly during rains potholes, cracked footpaths, insufficient drainage causes waterlogging in low lying blocks. Traffic jam is also a major problem during peak times, particularly near the shopping area and main roads. Parking area is extremely scarce which worsens the situation.

Positives: I truly like the combination of old-world charm and contemporary living here. The avenues lined with trees and parks are quiet, and I enjoy visiting nearby markets and small restaurants. Schools, hospitals, and shopping malls are just around the corner, and traveling to work is convenient with the metro and key roads such as Bannerghatta Road and Outer Ring Road. Negatives: But there are a couple of negatives. It is more expensive to rent here compared to the rest of Bangalore, and there can be a great deal of traffic on peak hours. Some roads are narrow and busy, and there are not many nightlife spots. Sometimes water supply is irregular. Positives: The very first night I strolled through this lovely well-designed locality, I decided I wanted to stay. I like the tidy block configuration, plenty of parks where I could take a morning stroll, the renowned 4th Block shopping complex, good schools and hospitals within walking distance, fine cafes and old-fashioned restaurants, and convenient metro connectivity at Jayanagar station, which makes city travel easy. I walk to the market every morning and like the combination of old-fashioned shops and trendy cafés. Negatives: I have to say, a few of the older pockets experience occasional drainage or maintenance problems in heavy rain. Even with such minor issues, I am extremely genuinely content living here, the peaceful residential streets and convenient facilities render Jayanagar a warm, sensible, secure and welcoming home for my family.

Positives: First things first- Jayanagar is an extremely well-planned area. I was always attracted to the affluent vibe with the tree-lined streets, some charming houses, and what we call that Old Bangalore feeling. Of course, you also get hospitals nearby like Manipal and Sagar, and also multiple colleges, supermarkets, commercial spaces, etc. There’s the metro connectivity on the Green Line and Yellow Line can be accessed also. Negatives: What I don’t like is how the area is steadily getting commercialized with more shops, cafes, and other establishments. It is losing its charm as one of those posh residential areas in Bangalore. Loads of traffic on the weekends are another issue, particularly around the markets.

Positives: I loved staying in Jayanagar as it retained with all the modern facilities. Greenery and peace were offered by tree lined roads and parks like Nandavana Children's Park. Bannerghatta Road, Outer Ring Road and metro facilitated travel. Negatives: I really concern about the traffic jams were frequent, particularly during rush hours. Property rental and sale prices were fairly high. A few inner roads were narrow and not well maintained. Noise and periodic congestion around business centers were common. In general, living in this place weighed lifestyle comforts against city bustle.

Positives: I shifted to Jayanagar half a year ago for employment, and I like the peaceful, tree-lined streets near my rented apartment in 4th Block. The area is well-planned with many parks, temples, and the bustling Jayanagar Shopping Complex. Weekend street shopping at 4th Block is energetic and economical. The Jayanagar metro station of the Green Line and regular BMTC buses make everyday commuting convenient. It is close to Lalbagh, so downtown Bangalore is readily accessible and fast. Negatives: I find some down points such as traffic congestion close to markets, restricted parking in older blocks and premium rents in the best locations. Overall, tidy parks, secure roads and welcoming neighbours make it a hassle-free, convenient place to rent.

Positives: I find Jayanagar peaceful but very much filled with city life. I have a house here, and I appreciate the neatly planned blocks and a very strong neighbourhood that is secure. Busy markets with grocery stores, boutiques and restaurants are located on the 3rd and 4th blocks. Good schools, clinics and old parks are nearby within walking distance. Easy access to the metro and frequent bus services make travelling to BTM, JP Nagar and central Bangalore convenient. Negatives: The core business corridors become extremely jammed during rush hours, which makes driving sluggish. Parking tends to be difficult close to temples and bazaars. Certain low-lying areas experience waterlogging during heavy monsoon rains. Despite these, the area's heritage appeal, green streets and accessibility make it a beautiful place to own a residence.

Positives: I've been staying in Jayanagar, Bangalore, for a couple of years now, and frankly, I couldn't ask for anything more. Positives: As a resident here, I can assure you that Jayanagar feels very old-Bangalore-ish. I was searching for something that feels settled, and this location has it all. The area is very green with lots of parks and wide, tree-lined avenues. All you need is within walking distance, from the local Jayanagar 4th Block market to plenty of great restaurants and cafes. The metro access is a big advantage, so it's easy to move around without a vehicle. Negatives: But honestly, it's not that great. The traffic at rush hour is a total pain, and many of the older homes and apartments are kind of dated. And some of the footpaths are in really poor condition, which is annoying. Nevertheless, the good definitely outweighs the bad.

Positives: I have to admit, my experience staying in Jayanagar was quite good. It actually felt like a proper, well-planned area. I liked taking a stroll down the avenue-lined roads and having a coffee at the small cafes. The close location of the metro and the big shopping complex made it a clincher; it meant that I had from grocery stores to luxury stores right outside my doorstep. It was a serene place despite all the hustle and bustle, and that old-world ambiance was certainly present. Negatives: The area has come a long way. I did feel the old charm was being lost gradually with all the new commercial complexes and apartment buildings being constructed around. That also caused some serious parking and traffic problems, and the dust from all the constructions was a big issue.

Positives: Jayanagar is somewhere that I always suggest. I view it as the best-planned locality in Bangalore. The locality is full of parks such as Nandavana and Rain Water Harvesting Park, and very good schools such as National College and RV Public School. Positives: Living in this area is wonderful. Jayanagar is a planned, old residential colony with great connectivity. I enjoy the shopping facilities at 4th Block and the neighboring greenery of Lalbagh Botanical Garden. Negatives: Traffic during rush hours can be really bad, which is the biggest drawback. The rental rates and prices of property are relatively high, and at times there might be problems with water supply.

I live in 1st block jayanagar. Wide roads with lush green Lalbugh. Always you find a difference in weather compared to rest of the areas. Jayanagar is a real Refreshing place. Cosmos, multi cousins. Lovely place to live.Jayanagar is best known for its planned city for residence. It is well thought of by inclusion of best schools, hospitals, offices and shopping centers. Buses connectivity is one of the major advantages. It is a fantastic place to stay because it has good hospitals,schools,wide roads,and a well planned layout.it os immensely popular because of the jayanagar shopping complex, bus stand,many branded showrooms,jewelleries stores, saree shops ,availability of all items&services,vegetable market,restaurants, etc.The disappointment here is cleanliness is very low in this area.It is the most difficult part to find the negative points of the Locality.There are many ongoing projects in the Locality due to which it can be considered as one of the most expensive area in the whole Bangalore.

I love this place for various reasons. Jayanagar is well connected with Bangalore's commercial hubs and IT sectors. It is quite a safe place as the crime ratio is to other parts of Bangalore. Police patrolling is also regular at night. It has good road connectivity to different significant destinations in Bangalore. The roads of the locality are well maintained. The BMTC provides frequent bus service as a primary commute option here. Also, educational institutes and hospitals are within easy reach.

In my experience living in Jayanagar, I have never faced a problem of insecurity. There are always people to help and care for you. The locality has the Metro Green Line station, reachable in 15 minutes. The closest railway stations are the Bangalore City Junction and the Bangalore Cantt. Sudarshan Vidya Mandir and Huda National Schools are some reputed schools situated there. Many banks are available there. But many areas are prone to water logging after heavy showers in there.
