Mumbai Infrastructure Projects: New Connector , GMLR Tunnel Progress

The Maharashtra government has approved a Rs 1,722-crore project for a four-lane connector from the Sea Link to Pali Hill, aiming to improve traffic flow. Also , TBM has begun excavating a 5.3-km tunnel under the Sanjay Gandhi National Park as part of the Goregaon-Mulund Link Road (GMLR) project, with 9 meters of excavation completed.

BMC Sets Deadlines for Key Infrastructure Projects: Vidyavihar Connector, GMLR Phase 1, and Mankhurd Flyover to Open Soon

BMC has announced completion targets for three significant infrastructure projects. The Vidyavihar east-west connector is slated to open by August 31, the first phase of the Goregaon-Mulund Link Road (GMLR) by September, and the Mankhurd-Maharashtra Nagar flyover by May 31, 2027. These projects are expected to improve traffic flow and connectivity in their respective areas.

MMRDA Approves Rs 723 Crore Thane–Navi Mumbai Link Project

The MMRDA has cleared a Rs 723.42 crore project to connect Kopri in Thane with Airoli and Digha in Navi Mumbai. This new link, including a direct creek bridge and improved approach roads, is expected to reduce travel time by 20 to 30 minutes, easing pressure on existing congested routes like Thane Belapur Road and Mulund East-Airoli Road.

Mumbai Monorail Services to Resume After Nine-Month Hiatus

Mumbai's monorail services are set to resume soon after a nine-month suspension, following approval from the Maharashtra government for safety improvements and fare revisions. MMRDA has proposed increased ticket prices. The monorail, which previously carried around 18,000 passengers daily, will offer improved services after safety upgrades.

Mumbai Coastal Road (North) Project Allocated ₹4,000 Crore

The Versova-Dahisar stretch of the Mumbai Coastal Road (North) project has received a significant allocation of ₹4,000 crore in the BMC's FY26-27 budget. This 25-km-long corridor aims to connect Versova in the western suburbs with Bhayander in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

MMRDA Accelerates Atal Setu–Mumbai–Pune Expressway Link Project, Targeting February 2027 Completion

MMRDA has made significant progress on the 7.35 km Atal Setu–Mumbai–Pune Expressway connector. With foundation and girder works advancing, the project is on track for completion by February 2027. This will enable signal-free travel and faster connectivity between Mumbai and Pune.

A total of 25 out of 31 launched units have been booked as of April 2026, including 86% of 1 BHK(6 out of 7), 80% of 2 BHK(16 out of 20), 100% of SHOP NO.2 (1 units), 3 BHK (1 units), CLINIC (1 units).
