Borivali West, Mumbai Reviews

Positive

Living in Borivali West feels great; it's a rare find in Mumbai since it mixes natural peace with urban comfort perfectly. The Sanjay Gandhi National Park is amazingly close by, therefore weekend nature excursions are simple. With the busy Borivali Railway Station and simple access to the Western Express Highway, plus future metro lines guarantee even better commutes, connectivity here is a significant benefit. Daily living is made simple by local markets and famous schools like Don Bosco High School. The major let-down, though, is the great peak-hour traffic congestion on Link Road and the inadequate control of dust and noise from current construction projects urgently in need of repair.

Borivali West provides a distinctive residential experience, expertly blending Mumbai's vitality with significant greenery thanks to its near proximity to Sanjay Gandhi National Park. Clients value the unmatched connectivity, which is based on the Borivali Railway Station, the Western Express Highway, and the new Metro Line 2A, which makes North Mumbai travel simple. Ensuring a full family life, this well-known neighborhood offers outstanding social infrastructure including top-notch hospitals like Don Bosco and great healthcare. High property demand here results in reliable investment returns and good rental yields. One little disadvantage to solve is the continual waterlogging in some low-lying spots during strong monsoon rains, which calls for enhancement of the drainage system. For a cosmopolitan, networked, and environmentally friendly existence in the Western Suburbs, it still stands out.

Positives: Borivali West is an ideal mix of city simplicity and tranquility. With the busy Borivali railway station and the fresh Metro Line 2A, which simplifies travel everywhere, connectivity is excellent. Having excellent hospitals and schools close by, as well as the energetic local markets like the one close to SV Road, is especially appealing to me. Just a brief distance away, the vast green lung of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, which offers us incredible fresh air, is the best feature.

Negative

Negatives: During peak hours, the inner lanes encounter heavy traffic, which might be taxing. In particular areas, better cleanliness management is needed. Committed public parking options would greatly enhance everyday existence.

Positive: Borivali West was a perfect location of Mumbai. With the huge Borivali Railway Station and great connectivity to Metro. Most liked features were green peacefulness close to Sanjay Gandhi National Park and bustling local bazaars such as Raghuleela Mall. Places like Don Bosco High School and hospitals like Lotus Multispecialty Hospital were within easy reach.

Negative

Negative: The largest challenge was the inadequate drainage in some of the internal pockets, where monsoon water logging would lead to some serious roadblocks. Also, it seemed like some of the area required much improved municipal management as far as waste and overall street cleanliness went. We also sometimes had power outages during peak usage hours which was annoying.

Personally speaking, Borivali West has everything that I want. The property prices are still fair, while the upcoming Line 9 access of the metro will further boost connectivity. Line 2A is accessible, along with the railway station and major roads. Of course, the green hubs in the locality are a key plus point, inclusive of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park. You will also find schools, hospitals, markets, ATMs, and more in the vicinity. The entire I.C. Colony area also offers excellent infrastructure for modern living. The family-friendly and cosmopolitan nature of the area is another USP. One thing I would like to highlight is the traffic jams and the distance from the CBDs and South Mumbai.

Water Kingdom, Essel World, and Gorai Beach are all easily accessible from this strategically located area, along with the green Sanjay Gandhi National Park. I personally love how nicely the area ensures work-life balance for me and my family. Of course, the family-friendly residential communities, the easy access to the railway station, and the bus services make it very well-connected as well. Also, the affordability here is better than many other Mumbai localities. It is another USP of the place, in my opinion.

Negative

There are some safety incidents that have taken place in some stretches. This has to be solved by the authorities, with more police patrolling.

Positives: I opted for Borivali West as it boasts an established, secure, and welcoming residential atmosphere. Connectivity is excellent, due to the Borivali Railway Station and the new Metro Line 2A that makes life so convenient. I adore the surrounding greenery closer to Sanjay Gandhi National Park, and big hospitals such as Lotus Superspeciality are at hand. Although property rates are steep, I'm content because I have excellent social infrastructure.

Negative

Negatives: But in all honesty, the lack of parking in my area is driving me mad and worsening with all new developments. Also, the huge crowds near the Borivali station and markets during rush hours are a nightmare to navigate.

I enjoy living in Borivali West, after having shifted here from central Mumbai. Yes, as strange as it may sound, I wanted some greenery and a better community feeling. I am happy to say that I got both these things in the neighbourhood. Yes, there is some power cut issues and waterlogging problems to fix. But I feel that is manageable. Which other place gives you the flexibility to reach Gorai Beach or the Sanjay Gandhi National Park whenever you’re down? Also, the connectivity and social infrastructure are top-notch, while multiple projects are also being built here.

Positives: I've been staying in Borivali West for really long. My highlight is the great security and the fact that it's close to Sanjay Gandhi National Park, providing us with so much of greenery. I receive tremendous convenience from the Borivali Railway Station and the Western Express Highway connectivity. All, ranging from good schools to hospitals and shopping at Raghuleela Mall, is extremely convenient.

Negative

Negatives: What annoys me consistently is the disproportionate overcrowding and high traffic jams, particularly rush hour traffic on the Link Road. Increased air and noise pollution from uncontrolled construction work. The improper drainage continues to waterlog some areas during heavy rains, which requires immediate attention from the city administration.

See, I have grown up in this neighbourhood. So, I will give it a 5-star rating for sure, no matter what the shortcomings are, including waterlogging during the monsoons, occasional power cuts, and road noise. I like how safe the area is, how friendly the locals are, and how green the environment is, since we are quite close to the charming Sanjay Gandhi National Park. And which area will help you get to Gorai Beach quickly through a ferry and chill with your family? I take the railway station for my regular commutes, while sometimes the WEH and SV Road are ideal for driving. My children take the Metro Line 2A almost every day for their college and office journeys. The colonies here are vibrant and celebrate all the festivals together.

Positives: I found Borivali West to be a great mix of urbanity and nature, with the huge Sanjay Gandhi National Park right next to it, which is very rare in Mumbai. I would say safety is superb and cleanliness is high, and it is a very nice place to reside. I think connectivity is great with the Borivali railway station and the current under-construction projects like the Thane-Borivali tunnel, which is going to ensure quicker travel.

Negative

Negatives: I believe the staggering popularity of the region renders it highly crowded, which causes intense traffic jams. I noticed that because of the high demand and wealth, the rent is very expensive. I believe the constant, unchecked construction process within the neighbourhood frequently yields high levels of pollution.

See, very few areas are as sorted as Borivali West. It’s almost like staying in a self-sustaining community of friendly people, slightly away from the hectic pace of Mumbai. I personally love going down to the Sanjay Gandhi National Park nearby (like many others in my neighbourhood), which makes the area very clean and green. In fact, there are several other parks nearby, while if you’re looking for connectivity, there is the Borivali West metro station and the railway station. All other basic amenities are available here as well.

Negative

The potholed roads need to be fixed on priority by the authorities. Also, they can consider setting up a dedicated parking lot in the area for residents.

If you want the ideal balance of Mumbai life, I always say Borivali West. It's special in that we have great connectivity through the Borivali Railway Station, the Western Express Highway, and future metro connections, so traveling within the city is a breeze. It's a very livable place, secure, and with easy access to the huge Sanjay Gandhi National Park. We have very good social infrastructure in the form of Don Bosco High School and large hospitals in the vicinity. Yet, the area is very congested and thus suffers from intense traffic jams, and we badly need improved drainage management as waterlogging becomes a problem of serious concern on rainy days.

Borivali West gives you the opportunity to take weekend trips every now and then to Gorai Beach, through a lovely ferry ride. Then there’s the Sanjay Gandhi National Park nearby, and many other green spaces. Life here feels more peaceful at times, although these days, there are several happening projects and other social amenities that have increased the crowds. Railway and metro access are excellent, and there are all the necessary amenities in the locality. These include shopping centres, ATMs, markets, schools, etc. I personally find the property prices to be okay and viable for what the area offers.

Negative

Two major problems need to be solved in this locality. The first one is how there are limited parking spaces available. The second issue is that the roads have so many craters, while the drainage systems are clogged. These things need urgent solutions.

Borivali West is quite livable, although I find it slightly far away from the main epicentre of life in Mumbai. Yet, the Sanjay Gandhi National Park is the main attraction in the area, and I love how easy it is to get to the Veer Savarkar Udyan, a nice green space, from my home. Another huge advantage is the dedicated Borivali West metro station, which is an elevated station on Line 2A of the Mumbai Metro. This has boosted connectivity and property prices hugely in the area, and multiple residential projects are coming up as a result.

Negative

I find the potholed roads to be a big turn-off. I really hope that they are fixed soon by the civic authorities.

One good thing about Borivali West is that the Mumbai International Airport is not too far away. You can access it within at least 36-40 minutes, and that, for me, is a game-changer. I’ll also be honest that Borivali West still has that community feeling, which I find absent in many Mumbai localities. The area still has that culture of local markets, tea shops, and people having fun conversations. All the festivals are celebrated with great pomp and splendour, and of course, the Sanjay Gandhi National Park is only 10 minutes away. That, to me, is something noteworthy about the Borivali West area. My only concern is with the rampant construction that is leading to overcrowding in some parts of the neighbourhood.

Borivali West is indeed the gem of Western Suburbs. It's stunningly green because of its proximity to Sanjay Gandhi National Park, and the connectivity is excellent with the Borivali Railway Station as the hub, along with easy connectivity through the Western Express Highway and Link Road. We have great social infrastructure, with top-class schools and hospitals, and feel absolutely secure here with the police presence and peaceful roads. It's also relatively inexpensive for a prime Mumbai location, considering upcoming developments like the Thane-Borivali tunnel which will further enhance connectivity. The only significant improvement required is enhanced maintenance of the drainage system to entirely avoid waterlogging on low-lying pockets during the heavy monsoon days.

The elevated metro corridor (Line 2A) is one of the biggest advantages in this locality. Also, Borivali West has developed rapidly over the last few years. There is a railway station access nearby, along with the SV Road, WEH, and the Link Road. Swami Vivekanand, Don Bosco, and other schools are situated here, along with hospitals like Apollo and Karuna. Multiple shopping centres, markets, and eateries are also present here, while I used to love exploring the Sanjay Gandhi National Park nearby.

Negative

Something that I can highlight in this case is the huge traffic congestion and the noise pollution due to ongoing construction. More nightlife amenities are also needed here, in my opinion. Street lighting should also be improved in several stretches of the area.

Positives: Borivali West area has fantastic connectivity via the Borivali Railway Station, Link Road, and the upcoming tunnel project. We’re also right next to the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, which is a huge bonus for clean air and weekend walks. The locality is well-managed, safe, and close to major employment hubs like Mindspace Malad, which keeps business scope steady.

Negative

Negatives: But residing here involves coping with thick crowds. The primary road traffic, particularly on Link Road, is a gigantic problem during peak hours. The continuous, uncontrolled construction is the source of noise and dust pollution. The localized waterlogging along heavy monsoons due to inefficient drainage needs to be rectified.

Negative

Negatives: We sometimes see out of control construction sites causing more air and noise pollution, which is bothersome. Additionally, occasional issues with maintenance of sanitation facilities exist in some residential enclaves. Finally, dealing with the sheer number of crowd in our business districts requires better regulation for an easier experience.

Positives: Borivali West locality was well connected through Borivali Railway Station, Western Express Highway, and SV Road. Shopping complexes such as Raghuleela nearby, and Sanjay Gandhi National Park and Gorai Beach provided nature's beauty.

Negative

Negatives: Though, traffic jams during peak hours were regular, and waterlogging in monsoons happened. The roads required repair, parking spaces were scarce, the frequency of public transport was irregular, street lighting was patchy, and construction would lead to pollution at times. Borivali West was safe and happening but infrastructure and public services required attention.

Positives: The area provides greenery, access to Sanjay Gandhi National Park, and proximity to Gorai Beach, Essel World, and the Global Vipassana Pagoda. Contemporary shopping malls and busy markets supplement the convenience, and real estate here is fairly affordable relative to central Mumbai.

Negative

Negatives: There have been occasional air and water pollutions due to fast growth, and social amenities such as recreational facilities can be better. Further, although the locality is secure, traffic congestion during rush hours can be an issue.

Positives: It has been great living here. The locality is a real epitome of the Mumbai suburban way of life with its combination of nature and accessibility. I would strongly recommend it for its sound social base, with good schools such as Don Bosco High School and established hospitals such as Apex Superspeciality. The high connectivity, fueled by the Borivali Railway Station and Link Road and SV Road.

Negative

Negatives: I believe a couple of things can be done by the local government for improved community welfare. The unplanned building activities throughout the locality regularly create a lot of noise and dust pollution. Moreover, the drainage in some low-lying or old residential enclaves continues to badly suffer from waterlogging in heavy monsoon rains, and the stormwater network urgently needs to be upgraded.

Positives: I shifted to Borivali West a couple of months back, and I find peace here. I have to say Sanjay Gandhi National Park is quite close by, and I take a walk there regularly. Railway and metro connectivity makes commutes easy. Local schools, hospitals and malls are nearby. Markets are crowded and serve as daily useful needs. The housing rentals seem reasonable for Mumbai, and numerous new developments are coming up. Flats are appropriate for various budgets. Evenings spent in nearby parks are enjoyable for me.

Negative

Negatives: Nevertheless, inner bylanes require improved drainage, streetlights are uneven, and garbage collection in some areas needs to get better. Sort out these three and Borivali West is even better to live in.

Positives: My stay in Borivali West was absolutely delightful as it combined Mumbai's urban accessibility with serene, green environs such as the adjacent Sanjay Gandhi National Park, my go-to weekend destination. The area was also very well networked, with the Borivali railway station as a hub on the Western Line and primary roads such as the Western Express Highway facilitating city travel. I was content with the availability of good quality amenities such as renowned schools like Don Bosco High School and hospitals like Apex Superspeciality. Having the entrance of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park so close by is like our backyard, a huge respite from the concrete jungle. The connectivity is fantastic with the central railway station and the future metro plans making the travel so much quicker. We have excellent schools and hospitals. Positives: Living here as a flat dweller is nice and convenient. Convenient local train and bus connections, near Sanjay Gandhi National Park and Gorai beach, good schools and hospitals, shopping centres and consistent property appreciation.

Negative

Negatives: Nevertheless, I confront daily irritations. To begin with, traffic along the station and Western Express Highway clogs every short journey and I lose time. Second, waterlogging in the rain turns some lanes and basements into ponds, which frightens me and requires proper drainage. Third, there is not much parking space and older societies create pandemonium. I need stricter parking regulations, quicker drainage work and better traffic management so life here becomes peaceful. I warmly suggest Borivali West to families, but expect civic action to accelerate soon.

Positives: I truly adore Borivali West; it has the ideal mix of city and nature. I can easily reach the Sanjay Gandhi National Park for my morning strolls, a major stress-buster. And with the big railway station in the area, I have a lifeline. My travel to South Mumbai is as quick as possible. The fact that there are so many fantastic markets, restaurants, and good schools such as Don Bosco makes this an extremely convenient and top-of-the-line neighbourhood.

Negative

Negatives: The two primary complaints I have as a tenant are civic management-related. First, in heavy rains, certain inner lanes get really bad waterlogging since the drainage is not good enough. Second, the ongoing redevelopment activity and constructions generate constant noise and dust pollution during the day.

Positives:: My Borivali West years were mostly cheerful, providing that ideal Mumbai mix of city life and nature. I enjoyed the great connectivity via the Western Line railway, which proved to be a godsend for daily commutes, and having the Sanjay Gandhi National Park right next door was a giant green plus. And the fact that there was simply so much world-class schooling and multi-speciality hospitals around made life a piece of cake to manage.

Negative

Negatives But the sheer concentration meant perpetual disadvantages. The unorganised construction work rendered the neighbourhood perpetually dusty and noisy. Every time the monsoon struck hard, the low-lying areas suffered awful waterlogging conditions. It was a daily battle to find an appropriate. This area is also distant from South Mumbai's central business district. I still have fond memories.

Also, being so near to the Sanjay Gandhi National Park provides us with unexpectedly fresh air and awesome escape routes like the Gorai zone. It's a genuinely buzzing and self-contained community.

Negative

Negatives: Though I adore it, there are compromises for sure. First, the inner lanes are narrow and filled with parked vehicles. Second, the perpetual high-rise construction ensures that the noise levels, even late evening away from the main street. Third, the older societies being redeveloped take years. Borivali West is a prime area that was not so prime till some years back. It’s one of the greenest areas in Mumbai, what with the Sanjay Gandhi National Park present in the vicinity, and several other parks and all. If you love a clean and green ambience with fresh air, you should consider this locality. I love how there is a chance to explore several places within the neighborhood itself. Not many places have that. In recent years, many projects have come up here, and it has become a posh locality with rising prices.

While the area is quite clean, the garbage disposal in some parts is not up to the mark. This is something that the municipality should definitely work on.

Borivali West will always be a special and nostalgic place for me. I have grown up here and spent my childhood in the locality. I remember it as a clean and green area, and eventually I shifted out for college. My parents still stay here, and they are equally in love with the place, as they were before. The Sanjay Gandhi National Park is the main USP of the locality, and people here love visiting it whenever they can, especially on the weekends and holidays. Also, the railway station is another hub of activity. Staying in Borivali does feel a little isolated from the mainstream Mumbai life, but it is another world altogether. When it comes to negatives, I only have one thing to say, namely, the lack of cleanliness in some parts of the area. Power cuts are another issue; at least they used to happen when I lived here earlier.

Short distances are easily covered by local buses and rickshaws, and the area has a friendly community spirit. Negatives: Some of these are low-lying roads that get waterlogged during the monsoon. I observe a lot of contemporary flats and gated communities in addition to older structures, offering plenty of options to buyers. I use the nearby highways for quick travel to other areas of Mumbai. Green areas such as Sanjay Gandhi National Park are nearby. Such aspects I always mention such aspects to families. Rental demand remains constant, and I find this location suitable for both long-term occupants and investors. Negatives: Certain mature pockets continue to experience drainage problems in extensive rains. Thus, I suggest that one inspect the particular sector before making a purchase.

Positives: I moved to Borivali West several years ago, and I even today consider it one of the better places to live in Mumbai. I appreciate that there is everything within arm's reach here, starting from schools such as St. Francis and Don Bosco to hospitals such as Karuna and Apex. I take my relatives frequently to Sanjay Gandhi National Park and Gorai beach, both nearby. Basic requirements are never an issue with markets, malls, and restaurants galore nearby. Communication is also good; the railway station, metro, and so on make traveling convenient. Negatives: The issues that concern me are that housing prices and rentals have become very high over the years, which is hard for long-term tenants like me.

Positives: Having lived here as a tenant for quite some time now, I would say Borivali West is an excellent place. The place is extremely well connected by roads and the railway track, so commuting is easy. The locality provides us with everything that we require right within it, ranging from a plethora of shopping and eating joints, with an extremely lively atmosphere. Negatives: The only downside, if I had to choose one, is that the local water supply is sometimes a gamble. But with the BMC on it, I'm optimistic things will change.

Positives: I enjoy the locality's green, well-developed suburb with broad roads. Sanjay Gandhi National Park in close vicinity, and Gorai Beach at a very short drive from my residence. Good schools (St. Francis D'Assisi, Don Bosco), hospitals (Lotus, Apex), Zoom Plaza kind of malls prove beneficial. And office spaces at Express Zone and Mindspace Malad prove handy. Easy connectivity by Borivali railway station. Negatives: I have to admit some roads encounter potholes and waterlogging during monsoon, and construction activity generates noise and dust in some areas.

The locality has good schools, hospitals, and plenty of greenery, like the National Park, which is a major plus for me. Negatives: It is extremely crowded and traffic is not good, particularly when it rains. The noise and air pollution are a nuisance, and I wish my apartment was bigger.

Positives: I like living here because it has great metro and train connectivity to business centers. It's wonderful that there are lots of schools, hospitals, and malls around and I like the green areas such as Sanjay Gandhi National Park. Negatives: The only disadvantages are the traffic jam due to it being highly congested and the occasional air pollution from all the continuous building operations.
