That’s what needs to be fixed.

Positives: Kodambakkam famous because it is like the heart of the city Chennai. It has a special charm due to the Kollywood film atmosphere. I have the railway station and big roads such as Arcot Road here, so traveling is very easy. And there are good schools and hospitals here around me, so I am secure and all that I need is here within reach.

Negatives: My greatest hassle is the congestion and noise. Traffic here is perpetual, and the inner roads that are too narrow get choked during rush hours. Occasionally, the evening noise caused by film studio operations is disturbing. I worry about the shortage of green areas.

Property rates are high, but I feel that there is a certain sense of exclusivity that comes from staying here. Also, there are crowds and traffic jams, but the overall experience is pretty nice. A fun fact is that A.R. Rahman’s KM Music Conservatory is also situated here.

I quite like the experience of staying in central Chennai. Kodambakkam is one area that has a lot of history and filmy connections (suits me, since I’m a film buff). The MTC bus network and railway station are my connectivity lifelines at present, while I am hopeful about the upcoming Metro Phase 2 line, which will pass through here. One of the best parts of living in the neighbourhood is the diverse restaurants here, including Midnight Masala, Arabian Kebab Centre, and the Saravana Bhavan. The roads and drainage require significant, persistent improvement for better management of the high-density population in the area. Improvement could be made in traffic regulation during rush hours and increasing green parks for recreation. All in all, Kodambakkam is a dynamic, well networked place I highly suggest.

Negatives: Irregular water supply is common, and occasionally the water carries a bad smell, which concerns me particularly during summer. Heavy rains cause waterlogging, and the drain fixes are slow to execute. A couple of roads and streets are broken or under long pending repairs such as Sivan Koil streets, making walking or driving hazardous and inconvenient.

Positives: As a tenant in Kodambakkam, life has been energetic. I love the mix of home life with the Kollywood activity. I feel it provides the location with such a special vibe. I wish the authorities had spent money providing more accessible public green areas for those looking to relax.

Negatives: But as a resident myself for so long, I have witnessed the infrastructure battle. First, many of the inner residential roads are too narrow and in disrepair, causing us to go around huge potholes too often. Second, shop and vendor encroachments into the sidewalk space are a humongous issue. And lastly, the never-ending metro construction has increased rainwater stagnation in many of the low-lying areas.

I mostly love staying in Kodambakkam. This area is mostly peaceful, and the bus connections are good enough. Arcot Road is where you will find the main terminal, and it is also a key hub for the entire neighbourhood. All the daily shops and stores are situated very near the locality, while you will be amazed to understand that it is also a hotspot for the movie industry. So, the filmy vibe is everywhere, be it the studios, auditions, film posters, and whatnot! It’s like living in a locality with a very innovative atmosphere.

The only thing that needs improvement is the waterlogging, since the drains are clogged most of the time. I also wish the work were faster on the Chennai Phase 2 metro network.

Kodambakkam is one place where you will get the flavor of the Old times of Chennai. There are local stalls, the community people are very warm and friendly, and you will find the best local markets to buy your daily stuff. In fact, it's one place that is home to so many Kollywood studios, and that will give you a very filmy type of feeling. Of course, the necessary amenities and other basic infrastructure are both present here.

In terms of what can be improved, I can say that the metro line work needs to be done quickly. Yes, Phase 2 is happening, but it should be done quickly to improve the connectivity. That’s one reason I moved out, since I don’t like waiting for things, and the commute through GST Road is a lot to take.

The traffic on the main road, particularly around the bridge, is completely blocked throughout the day. Parking my scooter is a nightmare; there are no organised places. Moreover, as most buildings are old, the electricity tends to trip quite often, and getting good, clean piped water is surprisingly difficult. I am glad to be a resident of this area.

Positives: Kodambakkam Railway Station, numerous principal arterial roads such as Arcot Road, GST Road, Dr. Ambedkar Road, and good bus connectivity through MTC. Fatima Matriculation, Chhatrapathi Shivaji DAV, Loyola Matriculation and many more in close proximity. Medway Hospitals, along with clinics and multi speciality centres within close proximity. Numerous restaurants, cafes, stores in proximity. Negatives: First, traffic jam & congestion, Kodambakkam is congested, roads are narrow, especially in peak hours. Second, pollution & noise, noise from film production houses, constant traffic honking, and lack of green open spaces in some areas make peaceful living difficult. Also, premium housing cost is steep compared to some outer areas, it is difficult to find big flats at affordable cost.

Positives: The first time I passed by AVM Studios, I knew Kodambakkam was my home. I have a flat here and like staying at the centre of Chennai's cine world. Studios, post production houses, and vibrant street life infuse the area with a creative vibe. Kodambakkam railway station and a plethora of bus routes ensure mobility, while good schools, hospitals and shops are within reach. The locality is strategically located near Nungambakkam, Vadapalani and Ashok Nagar. Negatives: Things I observe are congestion and noise during shoots and peak times, and few parking spots on busy streets. Beyond these, I am an extremely satisfied owner with the community, pleasant neighbors and nice local restaurants. Good location and daily necessities make Kodambakkam a warm, lively and secure community to reside in.

Positives: There are multiple bus routes here, while the GST Road and Arcot Road are also pretty accessible. Local markets and essentials are all available within a radius of about 5 minutes from my house as well. I also love the fact that it has a rich Kollywood film history, with several studios still located here. I am also excited about the construction of the upcoming Chennai Phase 2 metro line here, which is already coming up. Negatives: Well, the only thing I can think of is the waterlogging in some pockets during the monsoons and plenty of traffic jams. These are the two issues that bug me at times.

Nagar, Ashok Nagar etc. Negatives: Traffic and congestion were prevalent, particularly on Arcot Road and Kodambakkam High Road. Most roads were rough, potholes, cracked, hazardous walking routes. Noise was intrusive, particularly from studio recordings, shoots or traffic till late in the night. Green or open public areas were scarce, living expenses and property prices higher side, these problems I experienced.

Positives: Relocating to Kodambakkam was like relocating to the centre of Kollywood itself, and as a renter, I would give it 4 stars due to the incredible convenience. Connectivity is great; the Kodambakkam Railway Station is hardly half a kilometre away, and the Vadapalani Metro and principal roads such as Arcot Road mean that travelling anywhere is a breeze. And we have iconic colleges, hospitals, and large shopping complexes such as Forum Vijaya Mall. Negatives: But for being so in the middle, it's outrageously packed. I also realised the negative aspects of the dense infrastructure pretty soon, such as waterlogging during heavy rainfalls, and noise pollution from the film studios and overall city chaos. Decent parking is also a problem most nights.

Positives: The locality provides me with a feeling of being in the center of Chennai's movie and cultural world. I have a house here and benefit from good connectivity via Arcot Road and surrounding railway stations, making it convenient to travel within the city. Negatives: I can tell you, the traffic gets very heavy on main roads during rush hour. There is more noise generated because of commercial activity and film studios. Some of the streets experience drainage and waterlogging during rains during monsoons. The convenience, cultural feel, and consistent amenities make Kodambakkam an extremely practical.

Nagar, so shopping, eating, and entertainment options are never far away. Negatives: Property rates are on the higher side, which is in proportion to the area's premium status. Despite that, the location, connectivity, cultural feel, and excellent amenities make Kodambakkam a great place to reside.

Positives: Waterlogging is a pain in the monsoon season. As a renter here, I'd say Kodambakkam is quite good. The connectivity is the biggest advantage. You have lots of shops and restaurants around, and whatever you require is easily accessible on foot or in your car. If you work at the IT hubs, it's a good place to stay too, given the proximity of work. Negatives: The worst part I deal with on a daily basis is the traffic, which is a real headache and makes a ton of noise. I appreciated that I could walk to the Kodambakkam railway station and be at the Vadapalani metro within minutes for urban commutes. I had nearby good schools, hospitals and malls, and places like Sun TV studios and small theatres made the weekends exciting. I enjoyed the various restaurants and the reliable bus connectivity. Negatives: I experienced genuine irritations too. I considered traffic and congestion thick on main roads, and noise from studios and bustling markets depleted me at times. I had occasional waterlogging during heavy rains, and parking was cramped near commercial clusters. I felt green areas were few for families seeking peacefulness.

Positives: I purchased my home in Kodambakkam, and I continue to smile every morning at the movie-studio atmosphere here. I like that I am near the Kollywood studios, and that provides the area with a vibrant, artsy atmosphere. I get nice schools, hospitals and neighbourhood market within walking distance, and the Kodambakkam railway station along with major roads enable easy access to Nungambakkam, T Nagar and other centers. I have observed consistent demand and prices here remain in the mid ₹10–13k per sqft bracket, so it's a sure bet to own. Negatives I occasionally pick up late shots and location noise due to the studios, so evenings on main streets can be disruptive. Otherwise, I am safe, well-served and proud to reside here.

Positives: If it were up to me, Kodambakkam is the real pulse of Chennai. The train station is a huge advantage, providing you with unparalleled access to the entire city. Since it's the center of Kollywood, there's a special, lively vibe here that we can not quite duplicate elsewhere. Whatever we might need is at your doorstep, from quality schools and hospitals to crowded markets and renowned theatres. I can also find all sorts of properties here, so it is a good place to invest. Negatives: Truthfully, the only negative aspect is that a few of the interior streets are really narrow and can feel a bit congested due to the popularity of the area.

Positives: It has been many years now that I settled here. Also, a lot of good things have happened here. The most impressive is how central the location is. Everything you require is here with you. The basic necessities such as schools, hospitals, and all the renowned cinema studios. The transport connectivity is excellent, I can simply board a train from the station here or take the metro and reach anywhere in the city. Negatives: On the other hand, it is a little difficult to stay here at times. The area is highly congested, and it is very noisy with all the commercial commotion. Plus, during rains, some areas here have a slight waterlogging issue.

Positives: I am a renter in this area, and I have liked Kodambakkam as a wonderful location for me and my wife. I can walk everywhere, and the railway station is a big advantage for me. The metro is so handy. I like the fact that this area is always bustling with residential as well as business activity, which I appreciate. There are so many good restaurants and shopping areas. Negatives: I must say this locality has some negative sides too. The area is too congested at times. There is too much activity, and it becomes noisy. During the rain, part of the streets become a mess.

Positives: I love this neighborhood so much. It's a hub of Kollywood with studios, and Sun TV is just around the corner. Kodambakkam railway station is roughly 550 m, and Vadapalani metro is 1.7 km. Also, Chennai airport is 12.2 km. Arcot Road and 100-Feet Road connect to Forum Vijaya Mall, schools and hospitals. Negatives: Streets are congested and traffic is dense. Shooting for films and metro construction cause noise and dust. Parking is congested, and some areas experience water stagnation during the monsoon.

Positives: Kodambakkam is a good area. Kollywood's hub with film studios, neighborhood railway station, convenient bus connections, and proximity to Vadapalani metro are definite plus points. Additionally, good schools, hospitals along Arcot/100-Feet Road are pluses. Negatives: It's traffic-heavy, noisy due to studios, pollution-prone, and densely packed are cons. The green area is less, and living here is expensive.

Positives: I enjoy staying in this lively hub. With both the railway station and metro conveniently located, it is very easy to move around. All the amenities that are needed, such as hospitals and schools, are also within close proximity. Negatives: The traffic is always a problem due to how congested it is. You are exposed to noise and air pollution, and worse still, there's much the drainage system can improve on.

Kodambakkam is at the centre of the city from where commute to any place is very easy as railway station, bus stop and recently even metro station is developing.Kodambakkam is nice place actually.its in the city and you can see its very luxurious areas where you can see lot luxurios building.you can see a lot of food shop near by my area.No Traffic Roads, All varieties of shops, Good roads. Forum Mall, Kamala Cinemas, Udhayam Theatre is without problems reachable cinemas from Kodambakkam. The well-known valluvar kottam gift much less than 2 kms. T nagar coronary heart of the town chennai is subsequent to kodambakkam.Vehicle pollution, water will stagnant in wet days. Roads now little difficult because of metro construction. Crowded bus stops always. Peoples now no longer observe visitors regulations in Kodambakkam Main signal.What I dislike in kodambakkam is the sewage system is not good.
