Yelahanka, Bangalore Reviews

Positive

With quiet areas like Yelahanka Lake providing a true escape from the mayhem of the metropolis, the neighbourhood is quite green. Walking about makes me feel safe. Knowing the neighbourhood is mostly families and well-planned grounds generates a lovely community mood. The excellent road access is the main benefit. Particularly given how close one is to the airport, travel is very easy. Given its proximity to excellent schools and hospitals, it's a great place to live and I strongly advise it. Although all is excellent, the one service I want to quickly improve is steady Lowering our reliance on tankers, Cauvery provides water throughout all residential districts.

Yelahanka is just a must-see for its amazing development prospects if you're exploring North Bangalore. Its distinguishing characteristic is unmatched proximity to Kempegowda International Airport and outstanding road and rail connections including the Yelahanka Junction, hence guaranteeing excellent connectivity. Families will find the perfect setting in the area's strong social environment with excellent healthcare and premier educational institutions including Canadian International School. Driven by ongoing infrastructural developments like the Bengaluru Business Corridor, property here is relatively inexpensive and gives appealing investment entry points as well as consistent rental returns. Abundant green cover improves liveability. Still, for resident safety, the internal roads of the area sometimes lack sufficient lighting, therefore they need fast renovation. Yelahanka provides serene life with great future investment.

Positives: I find the rent here to be very reasonably priced when compared to main Bangalore. Road and rail connections are still very good. It certainly is a bustling district with many new homes and an oddly high quantity of remaining green space. Being close to the airport is a big plus. Having big schools such as Canadian International School nearby is ideal. It is reassuring and feels safe given the modest crime rate.

Negative

Negatives: The absence of metro connections is the main problem since that would greatly reduce traffic and make commuting much easier. Although we have supermarkets, the few late-night shopping or entertainment alternatives stand out. Better shopping and excellent multiplex alternatives would be very helpful in the nearby region.

Positive: Selecting Yelahanka was a tactical choice because it had an outstanding proximity to the Kempegowda International Airport and access to Old Airport Road. Living there seemed like it cost much less than main Bangalore localities. The area provided good social infrastructure in terms of schools such as Canadian International School and hospitals like Cytecare. The presence of many green areas was unforgettable, providing a beautiful, serene environment.

Negative

Negative: One difficult aspect of living here was the infrastructural deficit; the location still did not have metro connectivity, and hence the need to depend on bus and road transport. Another significant drawback was the inadequate supply of water in most residential pockets, compelling dependency on private tankers, particularly during summer.

Positives: I purchased a flat in Yelahanka mainly due to the fact that it's far cheaper than Central Bangalore. The airport connectivity through Airport Road is ideal for travel. Yelahanka Lake provide open space. We have good multi-specialty hospitals like Cytecare close by. Yelahanka Railway Junction is very convenient even in the absence of full Metro connectivity yet, and the area is peaceful and established.

Negative

Negatives: The traffic around the Hebbal flyover is horrible during rush hours. There's a paucity of good, big shopping malls or multiplexes to go for entertainment. I hope the city completes the Metro expansion here soon, as that would improve connectivity tremendously and reduce road congestion for everyone.

Positives: As a tenant at Yelahanka I adore the peaceful, leafy atmosphere here. There are numerous lakes and parks and essential shops, schools and hospitals are an easy distance away. Good road connectivity and the upcoming Blue Line metro make commuting to the city and airport easy. The area is safe and stable to me, and I have quiet evenings after work.

Negative

Negatives: I see the flyover work being underway for long suffocating the main roads and weekend traffic congestions are the norm. New township developments promise development but also create pressure on parking, drains and roads in the area. I desire quicker completion of civic projects and improved road maintenance so that life here remains easy and peaceful.

For me, Yelahanka ticks all the boxes, to say the least. I found the property prices affordable than many other places. Also, my workspace is not very far, while the Devanahalli Business Park, KIADB Aerospace SEZ, and other big developments have transformed the nearby areas as well. The Namma Metro’s Phase 2 connectivity will also be a huge boost for the residents here. It will also transform the entire profile of Yelahanka. Civic and social infrastructure is decently available by now, since the area has been around for a long time. I like living here, although there are some issues with waste management and sanitation.

Yelahanka is one area which has always captivated me. This is because I wanted to stay in a place which is near the airport, but not directly in the airport zone (yes it is strange, but it suits me). Yelahanka seemed like the best option, so I bought property a few years back and moved in. Life has been good enough ever since, since I fly out quite often, and find the airport pretty doable within about 20-25 minutes from my residential complex. Also, I work at the Manyata Tech Park, which is also well-connected to this locality.

Negative

The lack of proper garbage disposal is a sore point for the area. This should be spruced up at the earliest by the municipal authorities.

Yelahanka is a good place to stay, particularly for its proximity to the airport (which is only within 20-30 minutes by car). This suits me, since I fly out frequently from the city. Also, the Manyata Tech Park, KIADB Aerospace SEZ, and the Devanahalli Business Park are also accessible from the area, which means that many professionals working in these areas stay here. I am also eagerly waiting for Phase 2 of the Namma Metro, which will boost connectivity for all of us who are living here. This will also boost the property rates, in my opinion.

Negative

Electronic City and some other core areas are very far from Yelahanka, which is one issue. Also, there are some dump yards that should be removed, while the waste disposal system should be improved at the earliest.

Positives: I feel rejuvenated to live in Yelahanka. It has a mix of peace and ease. I like being close to green lakes and parks for peaceful strolls. I find the area secure with a warm community feel. Accessibility is easy with trains, buses, a proposed Blue Line metro and within reach airport. Rentals are affordable in relation to central Bangalore. Increasing housing developments and small offices provide additional job opportunities.

Negative

Negatives: I also see a few areas that require improvement. Yelahanka is somewhat remote from the city center for regular commuters. Some major projects, like the flyover, are delayed. Peak hour traffic and constricted inner roads increase travel time for short trips. I still gladly recommend staying here presently.

Yelahanka has been good to me in most cases, and I have loved staying here for the last couple of years. My own residential society has a nice community, and many other branded developers are setting up their projects here. The NH-44/Bellary Road access is the core USP here, while the Metro Blue Line extension will be a big boost in the future. I feel my property will appreciate in value after this development, while my office commute will also become smoother as a result. I personally appreciate the quality of water here, which is softer. The Yelahanka Lake is also a regular evening walk spot, where all friends gather for some chitchat. I love this!

Negative

The lifestyle and social amenities need to be developed more in this area, like the cafes, eateries, nightclubs, etc. We all live in good residential communities, and there is a lot of demand for these amenities in Yelahanka.

I am an IT professional who wanted a family-friendly place to settle down in Bangalore, and that’s when I chose Yelahanka. The budget was suitable back then, although I hear that property prices have zoomed up considerably in the recent years. I also fly back to my native place in Chennai regularly, and this is why easy access to the airport was a priority for me. It’s about 25-30 minutes away from Yelahanka, which is a huge plus point indeed. Yes, the distance from the heart of Bangalore is quite a bit, although I have happily made that compromise till now.

I begin my day touring apartments, and I like the region's tranquility coupled with development. The locality is well-connected by direct road access to the airport and NH44, a key railway hub, and the soon-to-be-launched Namma Metro Phase 2 B. Big plots, lakes and parks provide ample greenery and fresh air. New residential complexes and schools make it family-oriented. Prices are lower than in central Bangalore and provide larger houses for the price. There is consistent rental demand from airport personnel and IT commuters, and proximity to tech parks. Local hospitals, bazaars and weekly amenities are within reach. I highly recommend Yelahanka for value buyers looking for long term appreciation. Two areas for improvement are the patchy roads and drainage maintenance, and the lack of more organized commercial office centers.

Yelahanka is a good place for families and middle-class professionals. I like the fact that the airport is usually accessible in about 25-30 minutes. This suits me, since I have to fly out for work almost every month. At the same time, the NH-44/Bellary Road is easily accessible, along with the Doddaballapur Road and the Outer Ring Road. The Blue Line extension of the metro will happen soon, and it will boost the connectivity hugely. The area is home to multiple projects by top developers, while the pollution levels and noise are also lower than in many other places. I like the Yelahanka Lake and its jogging track here. The water quality is also softer and better. Yet, the lifestyle amenities need to be improved here, while the distance from the city centre is a lot.

I am a long-term owner here, and Yelahanka is the ideal combination of city convenience and tranquility. For an owner, it being affordable is a big plus, allowing us to afford more area than anywhere else in Bangalore. It is well connected, with the Airport, major roads like NH 44, and the future Blue Line Metro extension. This locality is actually green, and the laid-back atmosphere, combined with its closeness to corporate areas such as Manyata Tech Park. The major roads are good, and I always suggest this area to all. The only big highlight for change is that the internal roads and the local drainage mechanisms require major and immediate upgrading.

Yelahanka is a good place to live in, considering how the authorities are building the metro station on the Blue Line and the new road that will help reach Jakkur faster. One positive aspect is that the airport is not too far away, which is about 14-15 km. Considering how long it takes from other places, this is a major benefit. Ryan International, Aster CMI Hospital, and many other schools and hospitals are available in the locality: Yelahanka Central and RMZ Galleria Malla are also available in the neighbourhood, along with other retail stores.

Negative

Yelahanka needs relief from the civic issues due to road construction projects. It’s very far from central Bangalore, and also, the Yelahanka Junction railway station access needs improvement, since the platforms are hard to reach quickly.

One good thing about living in Yelahanka is that it is a locality that is poised for major infrastructural development in the future. The metro station is being built on the Blue Line. Once it happens, it will possibly connect the residents to the Central Silk Board terminus and other areas. NH-44 to Jakkur will be connected through the 12-meter road also. So, appreciation-wise, I'm expecting something decent in the coming few years. Another thing is that the area is overall home to a good community of people. Many reputed developers have made housing projects here, and social amenities are also being developed rapidly. Yes, ongoing road construction and the traffic jams that pile up are a major issue, but I hope they will be cleared soon.

Positives: Yelahanka is picturesque, green, and the quality of air is significantly improved. Connectivity is excellent. The airport travel on NH 44 is so fast. The upcoming Metro Blue Line will shortly transform our journey towards Hebbal and the big office destinations. I am extremely secure here and the community management is active.

Negative

Negatives: The biggest challenge is our distance from the central city's social hubs. Traveling to the CBD is a planned strategy, not a spontaneous visit. For the BBMP, they need to hurry on three things: complete the major road construction, enhance the local drainage capacity on the older roads of New Town, and get more large-sized business parks into the immediate area.

Positives: I have a house in Yelahanka, and it feels calm yet connected. The locality is well-provided with broad roads, fresh air, and good green coverage. Several noted schools such as Ryan International and Nagarjuna Vidyaniketan, and Columbia Asia Hospital and RMZ Galleria Mall, provide very convenient day-to-day life. The new airport road and Yelahanka railway station provide easy connectivity to other places in the city. I like taking evening strolls along Yelahanka Lake atmosphere.

Negative

Negatives: Water supply is very erratic in some pockets, especially during the hot summer months. Last but not least, public streetlight coverage is still patchy in most old neighbourhoods, which is a cause for minor security concerns at night.

Positives: I lived in Yelahanka a few years ago, and I used to enjoy early morning strolls along Puttenahalli and Yelahanka Lakes. It was a greener, peaceful, and less congested area. Schools, clinics and shopping malls like RMZ Galleria were within reach. Connectivity through NH 44, Bellary Road, and the railway junction made commute good. The new metro station is arriving soon, which boosted my spirits.

Negative

Negatives: But life there also had hard edges. Internal roads were broken and dusty. Monsoons brought drainage failure, flooding. Public transportation beyond main routes was flimsy. Water pressure fell in summer. The under construction flyover still halted. These four things truly must be improved for Yelahanka to be complete

I am a long term tenant here, and I thoroughly recommend it. Airport and ORR are nearby so traveling is convenient. Yelahanka Junction railway station and future metro provide connectivity. New malls, schools and hospitals are just short drives away. Lakes and green oases make the place nice. Contemporary apartment schemes provide good value for money compared to central Bangalore. Rental activity is on the up thanks to infrastructure development. Local cafes and markets are convenient. Roads are better but require greater maintenance and traffic management. Civic facilities such as drainage, planned parking, trash management and the frequency of public transport require targeted upgrade immediately. I highly recommend living here.

Positives: Guindy nicely blends business and convenience. Guindy's location is hard to beat, near the airport, Velachery, and Mount Road with smooth connectivity via metro, rail, and GST Road. It is well served by world class institutions such as IIT Madras and Guindy National Park in the vicinity, along with well-known hospitals and corporate clusters such as Olympia Tech Park. The residential areas are quiet, and rental demand is always high.

Negative

Negatives: But some inner lanes are still plagued by monsoon drainage problems, and property prices are going up gradually. Nonetheless, Guindy is my first choice for clever investors who want growth and fantastic city life.

Positives: Yelahanka locality is well planned with good roads, lakes, and abundant greenery. It's near Kempegowda International Airport and well connected via the elevated expressway and NH 44. Yelahanka boasts of good schools such as NMIT and Ryan International. Good hospitals such as Columbia Asia for healthcare and numerous new apartment projects with all comforts & some new apartment projects are growing up quicky.

Negative

Negatives: Yet, certain older stretches continue to experience water supply problems, and there are fewer entertainment choices than in the heart of the city. Nevertheless, Yelahanka's tranquil lifestyle and good rate of investment returns make it an ideal place to live and work.

Positives: The area is peaceful and spacious as opposed to the middle of Bangalore, with broad roads, green spaces, and good layouts. Every day living is easy with good schools, hospitals, and supermarkets within reach, and I especially enjoy the fact that there are lakes and parks around, which make evening strolls soothing. The area has good connectivity with the Yelahanka Junction and the airport near it, which is a major advantage for both work and travel. A lot of new-age apartment buildings have good security.

Negative

Negatives: Living here is generally nice, but there are some things which can be done better. Some of the older drain systems require more attention to avoid waterlogging on heavy rainfalls. Additionally, street lighting in some of the inner lanes can be improved for safety during nights. Also, cafes need more diversity and recreational areas would make the area even more vibrant.

Positives: I am so glad I picked Yelahanka; the life here is just fantastic, with a great balance of city comfort and greenery. I was attracted by the excellent connectivity, particularly being near the Kempegowda International Airport and having convenient proximity to the railway station and prominent roads such as Airport Road. This area is safe, and the rent for an apartment here is lower than in Bangalore city. This place have high-quality schools and hospitals nearby.

Negative

Negatives: Yet a few things would transform this into an ideal neighborhood. I wish the authorities mend the poor regular water supply and place more streetlights along major roads to enhance safety and visibility during nighttime. Also, the absence of a large shopping multiplex is disappointing.

Positives: While I was residing in Yelahanka, I thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful surroundings and the prevalence of green areas. The area is well-developed, with broad roads and a number of parks, which makes it a perfect place for going for a morning walk and relaxing in the evenings. Connectivity was a big positive; the Yelahanka Railway Station and the closeness to the Kempegowda International Airport ensured easy travel. Moreover, the availability of good schools and hospitals in the vicinity made sure that all basic facilities were readily available. Nonetheless, I did observe that the drainage system was not up to the mark, with intermittent waterlogging at times during heavy rainfall. Improving that would make overall living in the area even better.

Negative

Negatives: Nevertheless, I become irked by traffic due to sluggish flyover work. My short trips become lengthy, and I wish they could be completed earlier. Construction noise and dust close to new developments annoy my family and require tighter controls. Positives: I loved its calmer, greener atmosphere on the outskirts of Bangalore. I loved the feeling of suburban peacefulness with several parks, lakes, and trees. It made morning strolls pleasant. Schools, hospitals and shops also developed at a faster rate than anticipated, so daily needs were within reach.

Negative

Negatives: Certain areas of this locality experienced poor supply or low pressure on some days. Streetlights in old layouts were poor, and the pathways were dark at night. Waterlogging and clogged drains in certain low-lying areas were experienced during heavy rain. Moreover, most areas were far from the main city's social centres, so I frequently had to go further for nice restaurants or movies.

I have always wanted to invest in North Bangalore, and ideally, someplace near the airport. That’s where Yelahanka ticked the boxes, and more so, because my sister and her husband also moved here. Many complexes have come up in the neighbourhood, and I can easily get to the airport swiftly, which helps, because I’m what you call a frequent flier. It takes about 20 minutes on a good day, and this is probably the biggest USP of the locality. I am now eagerly waiting for the Metro Blue Line extension to be completed. It will undoubtedly raise the profile of the neighbourhood.

Negative

Yelahanka offers everything you can want, but I still feel that Bellary Road and NH-44 both need proper traffic planning. There is a huge pile-up of cars each day, and it takes about 30-40 minutes to cover the last stretch back home on some days.

My time in Yelahanka (approx 3-4 years) was a pleasant one. I was anyway looking to stay in North Bangalore to access the airport faster. So that worked out as planned, and the Galleria Mall steadily became a flourishing hangout for the locals here. I also liked how the area had plenty of schools and hospitals. Social amenities developed here quickly due to the easy access to the airport.

Negative

The locality boasted good railway and bus connectivity, with the airport and Outer Ring Road easily accessible, making commuting easy. Housing was perceived to be more affordable compared to central Bangalore, and new residential complexes were in sight. Neighbors were friendly and local bazaars provided fresh fruits and convenience as well. Negatives: The cons were three that I observed. First, the peak-hour traffic around the junctions was sluggish. Secondly, some of the older enclaves had uneven civic maintenance and periodic waterlogging during rains. Thirdly, nightlife and shopping choices were limited versus the central areas. In spite of these shortcomings, I departed with peaceful memories.

Positives: Having lakes such as Puttenahalli, Allalasandra and so on provides genuine breathing room in contrast to city center tension. New Town Public School, National Public Schools are the best and hospitals nearby, which makes family life easy. Airport Road, NH-44, proximity to Kempegowda International Airport is a major plus. The combination of new residential projects means you have more space for your home. Negatives: First, the traffic is terrible during peak hours particularly near the flyover work, Police Station-NES stretch, and Old Yelahanka Road towards the airport. The serene surroundings with the lakes and green space were a relief from the city's mayhem. Negatives But it was difficult living that far from the city centre, and travelling to other areas of Bangalore was a huge hassle. It has special connectivity to the Kempegowda International Airport and other big IT hubs like Manyata Tech Park. You're never far from anything, with the best schools, hospitals, and new shopping malls making life extremely convenient. Moreover, with the new metro line coming in, the appreciation here will be huge. Negatives: Well, one thing I have to be very honest about is the water supply. There are some areas that could have problems, particularly with the Cauvery connection getting delayed.

Positives: I have been an owner in Yelahanka for some time now, and it's a wonderful place. What I love most is the silence, it's a breath of fresh air away from the city center. The connectivity to the airport is a huge advantage, and with some of the best schools and hospitals in the vicinity, it's ideal for families. I also prefer that it's growing very quickly. The location puts me in a good mood about my investment here. Negatives: On the other hand, the water is slightly unpredictable, and there are some streets that do not receive adequate lighting during the evening. It is a little outside of the city proper, but I suppose that is the sacrifice for a quiet existence.

Positives: I am rather satisfied with living at Yelahanka. The airport is nearby, which is a major point for me. The locality is filled with new developments, and the living expenses are much more affordable than in Bangalore. It is a quiet place with a lot of green cover and feels quite secure. Negatives: The fact that it's far from the main city is somewhat of a drawback. There are scant few decent movie theaters or all-night eateries. Additionally, the water supply is somewhat unreliable.

Positives: I like the well-linked Hebbal and Bangalore Airport (15 km), and with several residential developments, schools, and hospitals within proximity. Easy commuting is provided by the Kempegowda Bus Terminal and the coming metro. IT offices and industrial parks in adjoining Devanahalli provide work possibilities. Negatives: Certain places are not well-drained. I find public transport in inner Yelahanka very few at times.

Yelahanka is a suburb older than Bengaluru, located 14 km from the city center. I got many shopping complexes and many grocery shops in every area in this locality. There are also many cafes to entertain and malls around. The locality is close to the airport, hospitals, schools, and colleges. Yelahanka is a crucial pillar in the government's aggressive push to promote north Bangalore as the next economic activity hub. I love this place.

This place is away from the central city of Bengaluru. I get to the market every day within walking distance. Yelahanka is known for silk handlooms. Here are average public transports available in this locality, not so good not so bad.
