Hinjewadi-Shivajinagar Metro Line Nears Launch, Operations to Begin in Phases

The 23-km Hinjewadi-Shivajinagar Metro corridor is nearing completion, with the first 11-km stretch expected to become operational in May 2026 and the remaining 12-km section in July 2026. This phased launch is due to ongoing work at several stations and safety approvals. The project,aims to improve connectivity between Pune's IT hub and the city center.

Pune Metro Network to Expand to Nearly 200 km, Addressing Traffic Congestion

CM Devendra Fadnavis announced that Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad, and the Pune Metropolitan region will soon have a nearly 200 km Metro network. This expansion aims to significantly alleviate traffic congestion in the city. Currently, about 33 km of the metro network is operational, & 55 km in construction phase ,with further additions planned.

Pune Inaugurates Double-Decker Flyover and Plans Highway Upgrades

Pune's new double-decker flyover, featuring a road flyover below and a Metro line above, was inaugurated by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to alleviate traffic congestion in areas like Baner, Pashan, Shivajinagar, and Aundh. Additionally, a 31.50 km six-lane elevated highway will be constructed on the Pune-Solapur national highway from Hadapsar to Yavat at a cost of ₹5,262 crore

One of the two new river bridges on the Mutha River at Warje on the Mumbai-Bengaluru Bypass is complete ,awaiting final testing, Balewadi-Kaspate Wasti bridge over the Mula-Mutha river, is expected to complete in an year. Pune University Square flyover is targeted for completion in 2026 ,easing traffic to Shivajinagar, Aundh, Baner, and Pashan.

Pune Metro Reopens Bhide Bridge for Vehicles Until November 15

The Pune Metro has reopened the Bhide Bridge for vehicular traffic until November 15 to ease congestion in Deccan, Erandwane, and Shivajinagar. The reopening follows public frustration over the bridge's prolonged closure due to the construction of a pedestrian bridge connecting the Deccan Gymkhana Metro Station to the Peth area.

Pune Metro Line 3 is set to become India's first metro corridor operated exclusively by women train pilots under a 10-year contract awarded to Keolis by Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited (PITCMRL). A team of 100 trained women pilots will operate the trains on the Hinjawadi–Shivajinagar corridor, which is expected to begin services by March 2026. Keolis will maintain 22 Alstom-manufactured trains, 23 stations, and the ticketing system.

Shivaji Nagar is located in serene and lush landscapes. The market, banks, and schools are close by. The position is convenient to the city, the camp, and the PCMC. It is also close to the Shivaji Nagar bus and train stations. Additionally, there are many bus routes. A short distance away is the well-known public garden known as Sambhaji Park. In addition, Shivaji Nagar's Jungli Maharaj Road is perhaps one of the nicest neighborhoods in Pune for homes.

Since it is located in the center of the city and is relatively accessible from everywhere, Shivaji Nagar is considered one of Pune's most well-known neighborhoods.
