NRIs can sell their property in India by appointing a POA to act on their behalf. Even better, they can travel to India and finish the sale themselves. The NRI needs to open a NRO/NRE bank account and get a PAN card in India to finish the process. The sale proceeds may be returned after acquiring the necessary RBI approvals.
