Pune Ring Road Eastern extn Gets Green Light :₹10,502 Cr Project

Maharashtra Cabinet Committee has approved the revised cost of ₹10,502.36 crore for the eastern extension of the Pune Ring Road. This 31.805-km controlled-access expressway aims to divert traffic away from Pune city. With 80% of land acquisition complete, the project is slated for completion by June 2029

Pune Metro Infrastructure to be Integrated with Upcoming Road Corridors

MSIDC and Pune Metro are set to sign MoUs to integrate Metro infrastructure with two upcoming road projects. Approximately 7.7 km of the Kharadi-Shirur elevated corridor and 17 km of the Hadapsar-Yavat elevated corridor will be developed as double-decker structures, with the upper deck designed to accommodate future Metro lines.

Pune Metro Phase 2 Proposes Integrated Double-Decker Flyovers

Pune Metro's Phase 2 plans include approximately 22 km of integrated double-decker flyovers across the city. These corridors will feature six-lane and eight-lane elevated roads. Key stretches are planned on the Ramwadi-Wagholi, Vanaz-Chandani Chowk, Kharadi-Khadakwasla, and Bhairoba Nala-Akashwani routes.

PMC standing committee has approved the development of the Kesnand Phata–Dube Nagar Phata road in Wagholi into a 'world-class' model road. This initiative aims to enhance infrastructure and ease traffic congestion in the rapidly urbanizing suburb, which is part of the 32 newly merged villages within PMC limits.

Pune Approves Double-Decker Flyover at Mundhwa Chowk to Ease Traffic

The standing committee of the Pune civic body has approved a ₹126 crore flyover at Mundhwa Chowk (Mahatma Phule Chowk) to ease traffic congestion. The 1,080-meter long flyover will cater to traffic between Kharadi and Mundhwa and has been planned considering the alignment of a proposed metro line. This project may improve traffic flow in one of Pune's busiest corridors.

A total of 48 out of 112 launched units have been booked as of November 2025, including 76% of SHOP(13 out of 17 units), 37% of OFFICE SPACE(35 out of 95 units).

After years of delays, construction has resumed on a critical culvert in Thite Wasti, Kharadi, which is expected to improve connectivity and reduce flooding. The project was previously stalled due to issues including the proposed relocation of a religiously significant tree, but interim work on Granular Sub Base (GSB) is underway to ease movement.
