Goregaon East, Mumbai Reviews

With the new Metro Red Line 7 and the Goregaon railway station easily accessible, I am secure and at ease here, therefore traveling around Mumbai is rather simple. Offering fantastic social infrastructure like Oberoi Mall and proximity to major corporate centres like NESCO and Film City, the neighbourhood is very energetic. The touch of trees from the neighbouring Aarey Colony, which offers a quiet refuge from city din, is my favourite feature. For families as well as experts, I quite advise this neighbourhood. Still, the persistent waterlogging problems on the roads during strong monsoon rains have to be fixed as quickly as possible.

Offering great urban convenience and connectivity, Goregaon East is a smart residential option fit for both professionals and families. The Western Express Highway, Goregaon Railway Station, and the new Metro Line 7 provide perfect transportation throughout Mumbai and make the region a main hub. Its rental return is improved by closeness to significant business hubs and film city, making it a powerful investment location with stable demand. The well-developed social infrastructure, including respected schools and Oberoi Mall is much appreciated by locals. Though the region offers a great level of life, potential residents ought to be aware that appropriate garbage disposal and public cleanliness requirements are services that need Steady development in specific inner regions. For its combination of lush areas and fast development, Goregaon East is still strongly suggested.

Positive: Living in Goregaon East is wonderful because of its great connectivity and contemporary atmosphere. My daily commuting is really easy due to the Goregaon railway station and the nearby Western Express Highway Metro stations. It's ideal for fast access to every region of the Western Suburbs. With Oberoi Mall close and great hospitals and schools, the social scene here is also something I appreciate. This helps to make life seem safe and lively.

Negative

Negatives: Common grievances here call for better waste management and lower levels of noise pollution. Additionally, better management and infrastructure are needed on important roads. Especially near the commercial hubs to guarantee smoother flow for everyone.

Positive: I selected Goregaon East mainly for the convenience of being close to major business centers and the Western Express Highway. The Goregaon East Metro and Railway Station ensured hassle-free connectivity, which made traveling within the city extremely convenient. Amenities such as Oberoi Mall, Lakshdham High School, and Prime Hospital were easily accessible. The best part was the easy access to the green belts at Aarey Colony.

Negative

Negative: A major disadvantage was the perpetual problem of excessive noise pollution because of the closeness of the busy highway and constant construction. In addition, waste disposal had to be improved in certain inner pockets, as the disposal of garbage at times posed unhygienic conditions for residents.

Positives: I opted for Goregaon East years ago as it perfectly balances the city and nature, being just next to Aarey. I adore the great connectivity with the local railway, Western Express Highway are just within reach. Also, Metro stations are nearby. We have the best hospitals within proximity, and I always feel secure. Though the locality is expensive now, it's worth it for the settled lifestyle.

Negative

Negatives: The issues which agitate me are primarily infrastructure related. The congestion on the Western Express Highway is horrible. Improved flow management is imperative. Also, air and noise pollution have greatly escalated over the years with all the construction and traffic.

Now, frankly speaking, Goregaon East is one of the top localities in Mumbai, if you’re a greenery lover. I just love exploring the entire Gokuldham zone, along with Aarey Colony, and all the forested trails. It’s so romantic and adventurous, while you can take your walks and jogs peacefully. The fresh air and pollution-free environment in the early morning and late evening is a huge plus point. Of course, some traffic jams and pollution arises from the vehicles, but that’s a minor inconvenience till now. The best part is the Red Line 7 metro station which helps us commute to several places.

Goregaon East has its fair share of pros. For starters, you’ll love how green the area is, courtesy of its proximity to the Aarey region and the entire forest stretch. It’s hard to imagine a forest within such a busy locality in Mumbai! Also, there are multiple housing options here, with varying price points. You’ll find friendly and well-developed residential communities, in addition to all amenities at your fingertips. The WEH is the main lifeline, along with the metro line, and JVLR.

Negative

There is some deforestation that’s happening in the name of development. This needs to stop, since vehicular pollution already damages the clean and green zone near our residential complex.

Positives: Being right off the Western Express Highway and proximate to Goregaon East Metro station makes my office commute easy. Aarey Colony is just next door. I feel really secure here, even walking back late, and having Oberoi Mall and NESCO so close on hand provides me with everything I need. It's an ideal central location, and I'm pretty content here.

Negative

Negatives: The worst concern is the waterlogging and huge potholes around the station during rains are atrocious and must be attended to urgently immediately. The entire area gets clogged with noise and air pollution as well. The perpetual peak-hour traffic jam on the main roads is a big headache.

The Western Express Highway is the main lifeline for me, when I commute every day. We also have the Red Line 7 station which my husband uses, ever since it started some time back. Also, the JVLR access and railway station are present. So, from a connectivity perspective, there is nothing to beat Goregaon East. It is very easy to travel through the city and beyond, once you live in this location. Also, I love the clean and green nature of the locality. The Aarey Colony and other vast, forested areas are all within this locality. It is a whole new experience altogether. Yes, there is increasing pollution and honking by vehicles, along with peak-hour traffic jams. But the lifestyle here is unmatched in Mumbai!

Positives: I think this location is a great spot, centrally located and straight connected to the Western Express Highway. The place is extremely secure and well maintained, particularly in the surrounding areas of the large residential complexes. I believe connectivity is outstanding with the Goregaon Railway Station and new Metro Line 7 stations within close proximity. Being in close proximity to the large business parks and the upcoming Goregaon-Mulund Link Road, it is an ideal destination for both investors and tenants.

Negative

Negatives: I found the rent prices to be very high here, so it is certainly not an economical place for all. I have to say that the roads, especially some inner roads and old parts, would get very large potholes during the rainy season. Further, overall pollution levels are very high.

One of the good things about staying in Goregaon East is how everything is so close by. The IT and tech hub of Powai is only 20-25 minutes away, while the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport is also accessible within only 15 minutes. At the same time, the Metro Line 7 also ensures great connectivity, while buses and other transportation are also available here. This has made living here so smooth in terms of accessing everything from my workplace to other infrastructure. What I love most about the place is how the beautiful Aarey Colony is just a short walk away from my home. I love walking here every morning and evening, with the greenery, forest, and lovely views.

Negative

I only wish that the waterlogging issue would be solved by the civic authorities. They can fast-track the de-clogging of the drains in our locality.

Truthfully, I explain to all my customers that Goregaon East is one of the best investment choices at this time, and I reside here so I know! We are conveniently situated right adjacent to the giant green belt of Aarey Colony. Transit is smooth with the Western Express Highway and the new Metro Line 7, positioning major corporate centers like NESCO and Nirlon Knowledge Park at your doorstep. Even better, the huge Goregaon-Mulund Link Road project is a game-changer that will significantly reduce travel time to the East. But as a resident, I sincerely hope that they work on the huge traffic congestion on the WEH stretch and bring down the high noise and air pollution levels.

I appreciate the connectivity advantages of this locality. I take the Metro Line 7 to go to work each day, and it is a huge benefit, let me tell you. The international airport is just 11-12 km away (15-20 minutes), which is another advantage. Also, the WEH is accessible and takes you to several areas quickly. I am also eager for the completion of the Goregaon-Mulund Link Road (GMLR), which, I hear, will lower travel time between the western and eastern suburbs. Vedant Hospital, Oberoi Mall, St. Thomas School, and many other social amenities are also present in the neighbourhood. Multiple corporate parks are also nearby, which should benefit the professionals living here.

Negative

The beautiful Aarey Colony will no longer remain sacrosanct if we allow this level of pollution, honking, noise, dust, vehicular emissions, and deforestation for projects. This is something that needs to be stopped immediately.

Goregaon East offers several advantages to residents. Firstly, there is the presence of the beautiful Aarey Colony and other forested areas in the locality. No other place in Mumbai or India, for that matter (I am talking about cities), has an actual forest within a busy city. So, you can easily take walks, check out all the natural attractions, and just enjoy the vibe whenever you want. Secondly, the locality is home to several well-established residential societies. You get access to multiple housing options. Thirdly, the social amenities are excellent, be it schools, hospitals, markets, shopping outlets, restaurants, etc. Last but not least, the connectivity via WEH and BEST buses is also top-notch.

Negative

I believe there is one major area for improvement, specifically waterlogging. This keeps the area inundated for days in the monsoon. I believe it is due to a clogged drainage system.

See, I have been living here for some time now, and I can safely suggest that the locality is very nice to stay in. One of the key things worth noting in this regard is the connectivity that I enjoy. That’s actually why I invested here. So, I can easily travel to my workplace in Powai within just 20 minutes or so. This has simplified my lifestyle in a city like Mumbai, where traffic jams are common. At the same time, the Mumbai international airport is just 12-15 minutes away from my home. This is another advantage of staying in Goregaon East. Social infrastructure-wise, everything is well-developed and within arm’s length. The only gripe that I can possibly have is that waterlogging sometimes impacts us all during the monsoon.

Goregaon East was one of our smartest money moves because real estate here is relatively priced for a Mumbai Western Suburb. Having the railway station, several Metro stations, and the Western Express Highway on hand makes my daily drive to the commercial centers such an easy affair. We feel extremely secure, and the proximity to Aarey Colony provides a welcome breath of greenery that's all too scarce in the city. The Goregaon-Mulund Link Road currently under construction will be a game changer for cross-city commuting. But to really enhance the residential experience, the essential infrastructure upgrade that needs attention is improved traffic control and more even road surfaces, especially around the major intersections.

I have spent my childhood in Goregaon East, and I love the quieter feel that we had back then. As a result, I am not very happy about not living here now, but we had to shift due to space issues. But, there’s a lot to like about the neighbourhood, particularly since you have the railway station here, access to the WEH, and then the JVLR, which I used to take regularly earlier. The Red Line 7 goes through here, with the Goregaon East metro station as well. My friends still live here, and they tell me how posh the locality has become, with sky-high appreciation! You’ll find the pristine Aarey Colony and a lot of green zones nearby. We used to love going on picnics in this zone. It is purely heaven on earth!

Negative

There is a little safety issue in some places at night. So, more lighting and policing may be the solutions for the locality.

Positives: I have been residing in Goregaon East for a while now. The station, the Western Express Highway, and the future metro make going to work relatively convenient. The neighborhood has ample greens due to the adjacent Aarey Colony and Sanjay Gandhi National Park's boundary, which provides me with a welcome respite from city noise. Oberoi Mall, good schools and hospitals nearby, and sufficient business centers around so I don't feel that isolated from newer amenities.

Negative

Negatives: However, there are a couple of things I wish would be better. Certain internal roads become badly water-logged during monsoon and the potholes are distracting. The road and drainage conditions in some lanes need to be looked at by civic authorities.

Positives: It's great living in Goregaon East, there was excellent connectivity in Mumbai. We enjoy direct connectivity to the Western Express Highway and the nearby Goregaon Railway Station. Being so conveniently close to key IT destinations such as NESCO and Nirlon Knowledge Park, combined with the high-end shopping at Oberoi Mall, truly contributes to the high standard of living here.

Negative

Negatives: In the monsoon season, waterlogging along with broken drainage systems on most internal roads is a major issue. Also, sanitary waste disposal and garbage dumping require a vast improvement in all the residential pockets. Also, because of hasty construction, there is much noise pollution and poor air quality is becoming a major issue.

Positives: I used to stay in Goregaon East a couple of years back, and it was very convenient. The locality has good schools such as Ryan International and St. Xavier's, good hospitals within reach, and lots of shopping malls such as Oberoi and Hub Mall. The public transport is very good with metro, buses, and taxis available always. Parks and small restaurants made nights nice.

Negative

Negatives: But the locality had its demerits. Waterlogging during monsoons, pot holes on main roads cause jam in pick time, inadequate waste management, and excessive noise made life here difficult at times. Also the rates of renting houses are expensive. I earnestly hope that these problems improve soon.
