Porur, Chennai Reviews

Positive

Positives: In my opinion, Porur's central location which let me connect rapidly was its most major strong asset. Sometime back, the quick growth and great accessibility to Arcot Road as well as the Chennai Bypass appealed to me. Our MTC bus lines linked flawlessly to T. Nagar and CMBT The transportation network is strong. The vegetation around Porur Lake gave a welcome pause, and the area as a whole felt rather safe.

Negative

Negatives: Many colonies' internal roads were frequently shattered or uneven. They were in poor condition. The other area that needed work was the lack of public transportation choices able to readily cover the inner, residential streets.

Positive

Positives: With reasonable rents when compared to central Chennai, it's perfect for a working professional. Great social infrastructure, like MIOT Hospital and PSBB Millennium School, as well as its proximity to DLF IT Park, help to make this area wonderful. Connectivity is great. We are right at the intersection of main highways and the Chennai Bypass. MTC buses, vehicles, and shared cabs abound, and the coming Metro Phase II will be transformative. With a variety of shopping opportunities including Super Saravana Stores, the neighbourhood seems secure and busy.

Negative

Negatives: Mount-Poonamallee Road near the intersection's heavy traffic gridlock. Need enhancement of the waterlogging and subpar sewage disposal that result from intense rains.

Positive

Positives: The DLF IT Park is just close by, therefore my daily travel is now minimal. Here we have major benefits. Porur seems to be the real Western entrance to Chennai. Quick travel is great on the bypass and road system. The future metro connection indicates enormous potential. Staying and investing here for a long time is my intention. Anyone working professional should find this region enticing.

Negative

Negatives: The peak-hour traffic choke near the main intersection is a continual problem for everybody. We truly require a superior, lasting fix there. More regular maintenance and growth of our lovely Porur Lake area will also help to raise the standard of living locally.

I think Chennai has a very practical option in Porur. Linking significant road corridors and the new Poonamallee-Porur metro extension improves Vadapalani and central areas' connection. Because the neighborhood is close to business and IT parks like DLF Cybercity and others, rental demand remains strong. Lifestyle value is added by good hospitals (MIOT) and respected schools (Velammal, St. Francis), plus weekend meeting spots like Porur Lake and nearby shopping centers. Pricing is reasonable for the west corridor and demonstrates consistent appreciation along with metro development. Faster inner road repair and better last-mile parking close to business centers are two things I think could be enhanced. For balanced life and development, I usually advise Porur.

Porur lately welcomed my arrival, and I find living here quite satisfying. On Chennai's west side, I believe this is very appropriate. Local bus and car travel are mine; shortly I will travel for work using the freshly finished metro line. Low areas still hold water after torrential rainfall, but in most areas I observe good drainage. Most remarkable to me is the close presence of institutions, hospitals, and stores such as Velammal, St. Francis, MIOT, and malls within a short drive. I appreciate that many IT parks and offices near my commute, such as RMZ and DLF are available. For me, the perfect combination of calm residential areas and rapid access to job hubs would be best. More benches around Porur Lake would be wonderful.

I am glad I poured money here in Porur. The place connects quite well; the Poonamallee-Porur metro stretch is almost finished and would save my travel time. Daily travel consists of bus and my car; I reach office locations such DLF Cybercity quickly. Close-by stores, markets, and clinics allow my family and me to feel settled. Evening strolls close to Porur Lake and little cafés along the junction appeal to me. My child attends Velammal or St. Francis schools nearby, and for health we may easily access MIOT Hospital as necessary. Good for value, I also anticipate more road and subway activity. Traffic and some monsoon potholes concern me mostly.

Positive

Positives: I chose to live in Porur mostly for my profession and the reasonable choices offered here. I find daily commute easier thanks to the Porur Flyover and Mount-Poonamallee Road. Most routes are served by buses and cars; the Chennai Metro Phase II (Porur station) will shorten travel time. Evening unwinding at Porur Lake seems ideal to me. Reach Sri Ramachandra and other hospitals rapidly, I could say.

Negative

Negatives: I believe that malls outside Porur meet my shopping needs; they are not inside. The area is rapidly increasing but is still inexpensive, I could say. I believe better lake protection and more consistent civil services must improve soon. All told, I am upbeat about living here.

Positives: I am really pleased to reside in Porur. Walking by Porur Lake and getting coffee at the little coffee shops along Mount-Poonamallee Road are delights for me. Good schools for children and short work trips come first for me. Strong connections to Guindy, Avadi, and the Chennai-Bangalore expressway are the major benefit of this. The area already has reputable hospitals like Sri Ramachandra and many clinics in close distance. Vadapalani or Velachery are a quick drive to large malls. I enjoy how modern apartment buildings and old neighbourhood streets blend together.

Negative

Negatives: Rental interest is strong since many IT and healthcare personnel call this home. I am concerned, though, regarding periodic civic maintenance and lake pollution problems. Still, I am settled and pleased to reside here.

Positive

Positives: Finding cheap housing here was not as difficult as in central Chennai. A big benefit was the accessibility to IT office areas like DLF IT Park, close to Sri Ramachandra Medical College and MIOT Hospital. Some natural break would be closest at the Porur Lake region. It felt tranquil. The closest present metro stop felt like a protracted drive, but the new Phase II line will be extremely helpful.

Negative

Negatives: Traffic on the Porur intersection was often dreadful. During the monsoon, the region experienced strong water logging and inadequate sewage management. We needed better public transit alternatives. Many internal roadways were also rough and decaying, which made nighttime local travel challenging.

Positive

Positives: First on my list was locating an inexpensive mid-segment 2BHK rental. So, this neighbourhood has plenty to offer for working professionals like me, and it is best for me. Being close to Chennai Bypass and prominent routes is the main benefit of this area. Top hospitals such as MIOT and Ramachandra are practically adjacent to crucial services. Porur provides us with robust social infrastructure. Fantastic malls and schools are right outside of this locality. Too, the Metro's upcoming connectivity portends a significant future improvement.

Negative

Negatives: Traffic congestion needs much better control in this area, particularly near the main Porur intersection. Also, better road maintenance and drainage on a few inner lanes would greatly simplify life here.

Positives: Four years of joyful residence in Porur have left me enjoying mainly the easy access to the IT hub. Day or night, it seems very secure. Nearby are SRM University, Alpha Arts and Science College, and Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre, all of which offer excellent facilities. Porur Lake provides a good place for resting, and the surroundings are rather verdant. The Metro Phase II, including the Porur Bypass station, is the major benefit.

Negative

Negatives: Traffic near the primary congestion During peak times, Porur junction is always a cause of worry. For linking the interior roads, I also think more often, local feeder bus services are necessary.

Positive

Positives: Having a prime location near DLF IT Park and other large companies in Manapakkam, my apartment here was purchased especially for its excellent possibilities. This closeness guarantees a fantastic rental yield, readily reaching the 3% to 4.5%. For excellent local connection, MTC bus lines are broad and auto-rickshaws are easily accessible. The Chennai Metro Phase II future Porur station offers the closest significant metro access. Access to excellent medical care and malls like Super Saravana Stores is my favorite feature.

Negative

Negatives: I'm rather sure about the strategic value here; it is affordable. But my top priority is the state and security of internal roads in historic districts in the region.

Positive

Positives: Being an IT-residential nexus ideally positioned where historic Chennai meets new development defines Porur. Here, my life is really easy and greatly cuts down on my daily travel time. I adore the great social infrastructure, with premium universities such as PSBB Millennium and hospitals like MIOT close by. The quickest way linking us to Guindy and the airport corridor, certainly Mount Poonamallee High Road, provides the most basic connectivity. The amazing Porur Lake provides a natural green monument even though it requires more upkeep.

Negative

Negatives: Two main flaws really offend me and demand immediate attention. The severe traffic jams at the Porur intersection frustrateingly sluggish. Furthermore, continuous water logging throughout the monsoon season greatly interferes with daily life and infrastructure.

Positive

Positives: Given the closeness to IT centers like DLF, renting in Porur is still fairly reasonable. Like MIOT International Hospital and the well-known Super Saravana Stores for all our shopping, we have easy access to what we require. The great emphasis given to infrastructure is what makes it gorgeous. Although transport is difficult now, the future Yellow Line metro including the Porur Junction Metro Station is a great project we eagerly anticipate. Near there is a major educational facility called SRM University Ramapuram.

Negative

Negatives: Great water stagnation during the rainy season. At the major Porur intersection, we too find difficulty with never-ending traffic jams. Furthermore, better handling of the ongoing metro construction's noise is necessary.

For its energetic but safe environment, Porur was really the ideal Chennai centre I adored so much. My family felt secure in the neighbourhood, and I enjoyed the outstanding connectivity close to the Mount-Poonamallee Road. Top educational institutions such PSBB Millennium and specialized medical hospitals such MIOT Hospital were easily available. Super Saravana Stores and Copper Kitchen kept us busy for entertainment. The future Phase II Metro expansion provided great promise. The repeated water logging in the inner residential streets and the damaged roads was my only concern. This made monsoon travel rather a letdown. Fast-developing suburb Porur actually had potential.

Positive

Positives: Because of its great connectivity, Porur was a wonderful location. We were at the junction of Mount-Poonamallee Road, hence Guindy and the airport were simple to get to. It felt relatively safe for having hospitals like MIOT and Sri Ramachandra Medical College nearby was calming. For the children, we had fantastic schools like Velammal Vidyalaya. For weekend excursions, there were abundant retail at Super Saravana Stores.

Negative

Negatives: In several areas, internal roads are damaged, causing bumpy trips. Moreover, the absence of a functioning metro stop forced us to depend completely on automobiles and buses. During the rainy season, the ongoing problem of waterlogging and inadequate sewage disposal on the main roads made walking challenging.

I selected Porur mostly for its wonderful office closeness to the DLF IT Park and Guindy. For me, this site is inexpensive and offers excellent value relative to the premium rental rates of Central Chennai. From local bazaars to Super Saravana Stores, everything vital is on hand. I consider this to be great; Porur Lake's presence offers a natural, green area. The bus system is robust and the imminent subway link is a great addition. The severe traffic jams at peak business hours worry me. Although safety inside my complex is fine, better public transportation is missing in very utility. Living in this strategically linked, developing suburb is something I actually love.

Living in Porur makes me feel quite safe and happy; buying a home here was among my best financial decisions. This neighborhood seemed perfect for its great closeness to the IT corridor, including DLF Cybercity, which promises solid property appreciation. My experiences have been good, particularly with the contemporary, well developed infrastructure. Reputable schools such as PSBB Millennium and major medical facilities like MIOT Hospital nearby help to simplify daily life. Being a quick drive apart, the Mount-Poonamallee Road junction and the Alandur Metro Station make travel simple. Good groundwater and numerous facilities are very helpful to me. The need for additional public waste bins, especially near to bustling commercial areas, is the main negative aspect.

Positives: For a renter, Porur is an unexpectedly cozy location. Late-night travel feels very safe. Connectivity is the strongest asset of the area. proximity to the Chennai Bypass makes traveling to Tambaram and Guindy simple. MIOT Hospital and PSBB Millennium School are two great amenities available right at our doorstep. For weekend fun, Nexus Vijaya Mall is only a quick drive away. Super Saravana Stores covers everyday necessities. The forthcoming Porur Junction metro station, which will radically alter travel and further increase the value of this location, is the biggest good.

Negative

Negatives: Particularly near the junction, the daily road congestion is great. Thus, more devoted green spaces and better local waste management are much needed.
