Having the new Porur Bypass and Mount-Poona mallee Road nearby simplified travel around Chennai. Moreover, the abundance of excellent schools and hospitals like Dr. Rela's and the major Super Saravana Stores meant you virtually never had to leave the area for anything.
NegativeNegatives: Major trouble remained the total traffic congestion. Many interior streets felt more like a swimming pool than a road during every monsoon. The steady growth meant the road surfaces had far too many potholes, and we had trouble with a steady water supply during dry summers.
Positives: Living here in Porur makes me so at ease; it's a very practical residential location near Chennai West. This location appealed to me since it's close to major IT centers like DLF Cyber City, where I labor, and the rent is still reasonable. The Chennai Bypass and Arcot Road have excellent connectivity; the Metro Phase 2 will be a major boost as well. Nearby, we have good schools and great hospitals like MIOT.
NegativeNegatives: Three things have to be addressed even though I am delighted. During peak office hours, traffic is very congested, which is aggravating. For walking, we really require more nearby parks or green areas. The scarcity of water throughout the height of summer also causes a serious problem for the people. It is generally a safe area.

This location is where I purchased my house because of its good infrastructure, closeness to both lifestyle amenities and corporate centers, and access to key highways. The future metro corridor, big IT parks nearby and respected universities like Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research make it seem future-ready. Coming home to a quiet residential street not far from malls and cafes is my best thing after leaving work nearby. I would like to see the metro connection become operational more quickly and traffic on major intersections managed better. Still, I firmly advise Porur as a wonderful spot to own and reside.
