I am very glad I moved to Porur. Even late at night I feel totally safe. My feelings are good because the surroundings are fast getting better and the community is kind. The MTC bus service on Arcot Road is my simplest means of transportation; soon the new Metro will greatly improve my daily living. Major connectivity locates me exactly by IT hallways. MIOT Hospital, the closest hospital for me, has St Paul's School right nearby for my kids. Porur Lake is the only sizable green area. Like the local bus stops require nicer shelters and the inner residential roads have irritating potholes, two things need quick repairs or upgrades.

Local bus and car travel are mine; shortly I will travel for work using the freshly finished metro line. Low areas still hold water after torrential rainfall, but in most areas I observe good drainage. Most remarkable to me is the close presence of institutions, hospitals, and stores such as Velammal, St. Francis, MIOT, and malls within a short drive. I appreciate that many IT parks and offices near my commute, such as RMZ and DLF are available. For me, the perfect combination of calm residential areas and rapid access to job hubs would be best. More benches around Porur Lake would be wonderful.
