The Union government has approved the construction of a 30-kilometer expressway to connect Delhi, Noida, and Greater Noida with the upcoming Jewar International Airport. This expressway will run parallel to the existing Noida-Greater Noida Expressway along the Yamuna River, linking Pushta Road to both the Noida-Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressways. The project aims to decongest the current Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, which handles approximately five lakh vehicles daily, leading to significant congestion during peak hours, and is expected to cut travel time in half. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is expected to undertake the construction, with funding assured by the central government as part of a larger infrastructure push in the Delhi-NCR region worth ₹1.2 lakh crore. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has backed the project, with Gautam Buddha Nagar MP Dr. Mahesh Sharma initially proposing the link.
